And the journey begins...

Nov 06, 2010

I had my first check up and the doctor was thrilled.  Although he did say I was a very complicated case, that it took him two hours to just get in through the abdominal wall due to all my adhesions and other abdominal issues.  But he persevered and did not resort to completely opening me up.  I am forever grateful for that.  My doctor had 4 out of state doctors there to watch the entire procedure, as he is well known for performing the sleeve in complicated situations without gutting you open!  lol

I had vomiting from the contrast you drink for the nuclear test afterwards, fortunately you don't have much to vomit afterwards.

I had my moment in the hospital of "why did I ever do this to myself?" which passed quickly.

I had one day of bad gas pain in my left side but it didn't last long for me and it all went away rather quickly.

I have been sick of the liquid protein drinks but have thrown in some creamed soups, fudgesicles, puddings and yesterday I had some squash, and boy was it good!

I have lost 19 lbs since preop visit and since I started preparing for surgery back in July I have lost 52 lbs.  Its at that noticeable stage now which kind of embarrasses me when people say something but I'm learning to smile and thank them.

I am getting bored at home so I'm going to have to get a hobby!  Its so cold you can't walk outside so I'm going to join curves I think.

Well, thats my update, have a great week everyone.
