Wow!  The last 6 days have been nuts! Surgery was on Tuesday the 5th and it went great! No complications so far. The worst part has been the bloating and not being able to get the air to move. I lost 19 lbs during my 10 day pre-op liquid diet. Day 5 was the worst day of that. I came home the day after surgery and have been doing well. So glad I'm on this side of surgery and am so ready for the new adventures ahead!

It's done! Pre-op is done. EKG, blood work, chest X-ray, upper GI, class with dietitian and last visit with nurse!  Whew !!! What a day !!!  Liquid diet starts on Saturday....August 5th here I come !!!

It's been quite a crazy ride.  Was supposed to be approved for surgery back in February but because of conflicting information given to me by my insurance company, I had to complete 3 more months of supervised weight loss appointments.  As of the end of June the appointments were complete.  Pre-op is scheduled for July 24th and surgery is August 5th !!  So excited !! 

Got the word yesterday that the results of my thyroid test came back normal.  Now it's time for the inurance to give its approval.  Back in November when I choose my insurance with BCBS I checked to see if Gastric Bypass was covered and it is.  So, I really hope that I hear back soon that they approve.

Met with the surgeon today. Waiting on insurance approval and then it's time to schedule my RNY. So ready !!!

5 days (February 14th, 2014) till my first one on one with my surgeon. I'm so excited to start this journey.
