Hello I’m a new Pre-op person, today @ 1pm. I have an appointment for my Pre-Surgery Clearance, I had researched now for about 2 years for the surgery, and my surgery is scheduled for October, 2. For Laparoscopic bypass surgery. I think I’m about as prepared mentally as I can be, There is simply no way to totally prepare yourself, I understand It's a drastic, life changing event. No one can prepare for those changes totally, I understand the surgery is a tool for sure, and a great one at that, but it is not a cure. I wish I knew about this site long before or been brave enough to post some questions, but I will be on the site more often to find out more information from time to time. I go every support group meetings that are available to me, I found them very informative, I hope to be able to stop some of the pain and other medications that I have now, I have lost 26 Lbs. since May, to prepare for the surgery, I’m now 330 Lbs. and 5’8” tall, with lower back, leg and knee pain, being this close to the surgery date I had to stop some of the pain medication, thank you for listening to me babble on it is just that I’m getting a little nerves, with every day that it gets closer, Nick
