I got my date today! June 11, 2009! RNY! OMG, I am just on cloud nine! I cannot believe its finally happening! Next week baby!

I turned in my last test results to the bariatric coordinator today. I am excited. She is going to call me on Monday or Tuesday to give me my date for surgery. She said there are dates left for May so I hope to get the last week. Im terribly excited!

Ok, so I know that as believers we are always sure that God has our back. It is nice though to get that confirmation in the little ways that he always surprises us. It has been a hard week for me financially and my gas tank was on E! My son found a five dollar bill on the sidewalk of all places and gave it to me for gas(so sweet). I scrounged up two more dollars in change and went to the gas station last night at about midnight to put the seven dollars in my van. Well, my best friend went in to pay for the gas and I pulled the nozzle out and set it to pump. The screen was frozen on 5.00 but it sounded as though it was running. I told my friend and she said just give it a minute....we waited....nothing. So she walked back into the store and told the cashier that the screen was not registering and she said we were not getting anything to hang it up and try again. Well, I hung it up and pumped $3.63 in gas and it would not take anymore. My tank was full. I had to go in and get my change! How amazing is that! I received a full tank of gas for free. Our God, how amazing is it that he answers our prayers!

 

 

Just waiting on paperwork from Well Woman and Sleep Study! It is getting closer!!! I am so excited. Just the thought of starting this healthy journey has me in the best mood! I am already doing good. Down 10lbs on my own. Working hard at giving up the bad stuff. Its getting easier to eat just when I am hungry. One day soon I will look back at myself and wonder how that could have been me. I just cannot wait!

I am heading on the home stretch...its getting closer. I am suppose to call the first week of May at set up my pre op appt. Yippee! I cannot wait to get this going.

Ok, Finished with most of my pre op stuff. Got the ok to schedule preop quiz and my last appt is April 3. Hopefully will get a date soon!

Heard from the Bariatric Coordinator. Got the ok to schedule my psych and nutrition appts. Pretty keyed up about it. I wish that I was going to have it done sooner but I am happy that its approved. I cannot wait until its time!

This is the beginning of my journey. I had my very first WLS appointment on Friday, Jan 23, 2009. It was exciting. I have wanted this surgery for a Aftertime. I have battled my weight since 6th grade. I have gone up and down. Its been a struggle. My lowest size was a 12 my senior year of highschool.  After graduation, I went on birth control and spent the summer bored and restless and went up to a size 18. By the December after graduation, I was getting married and needed a wedding dress in a size 20. I have been married for 14 years now and have three wonderful children but I am a size 22. I cannot get this weight off. Im the typical yo-yo dieter. Atkins was my greatest success and it didnt last. I am now at 265.7. I have never weighed this much in all of my 34 years. I need a strict new lifestyle. I need structure and motivation. I have tricare so due to my BMI I qualify for surgery. I have to meet support group and education requirements as well as a list of medical appointments before my surgery can be schedule. They say about 3 mos. I am counting down to a new life. I want so much to be active with my kids and to not always wonder if people are staring, pointing, and laughing at me. I hate my weight and am ready to be a new me.
