How it all began....

Well I guess I would have to say I was always healthy, and athletic and energetic till I was 18.. Back then my normal weight was about 110 pounds (wow those REALLY were the days).... I was 5'2" and a bust that was large enough to make me stick out like... well like I do now days.... I weighed 108 the day I got pregnant with my oldest back in 1989... I weighed 168 the day I had her... Quite a jump in weight but I was still very healthy for even that much gain... I got down to 145 when I got pregnant again with my 2nd daughter and had her when I weighed 180 pounds (1992)... Both of the girls weighed 7pounds 2 ounces... Then I got down to approx. 160 and got pregnant one last time and had my son (1996) and waddled into the hospital at 200 pounds... I was MISERABLE and moved VERY slowly... He weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces... This was also the day I quit smoking (Yes I was a bad person and smoked with all 3 of my pregnancies)... I have been smoke free since 3-6-1996 and have only looked back when I get so depressed that it makes me wonder if I did the right thing since I have ballooned up SOOOO much since then... I have been on lots of diets, including Phen/Fen and Jenny Craig (Have a lifetime membership there still), along with Midera (I think it's called), and other self dieting plans like the Blood Type diet, just to name one... Anyway.... I have had blood tests that included Tyroid tests, as well as Diabeties, High Blood Pressure, and Liver function tests... Everything is normal (not the liver tests)... I don't have Thyroid problems, or HBP, or Diabeties (which is a SHOCKER when your over 375 pounds, and only 5' tall *lost 2 inches*)... The liver tests were abnormally high but we think that's because I had drank (had a party) 2 weeks before I took the test and it was WAY up there... And none of my other tests were out of the range of normal... (the Dr and I BOTH were confused)... So I told him I would do another AST, and ALT testing later (which I did) and come to find out the tests were a LOT lower, but still elevated above the normal range... The Dr wants to test me for Hep, but it's HIGHLY unlikely since my WBC is completely normal with all the other thests... HOWEVER before I had that last liver function test done I broke out in HIVES (This was about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving `06), and Still have then slightly to this day (But they ARE going away)... We have tried Alergy pills, and steroids, and what have you, and only the steroids seemed to work, but now that Xmas is gone and so is most of the stress the hives are going away... I have been looking in to WLS for more than 5 years and used to be a member on OH before, but it has been a LONG time and have lost the account...I WAS looking into the DS, but have recently changed my mind to the Lap-Band since it's the least invasive and I don't mind losing weight slowly (maybe the skin will shrink too!) just as long as I LOSE it and it STAYS OFF!!!....  We have NO insurance on me (that would cost 700 a month and we can't afford that) since we have a single income and there are 5 of us living off that income...  My husband is the BEST there ever could be for me and has supported all my decisions that I make in regards to ANYTHING I want to do (crafts, surgery, anything)... I think I will keep him! hhehehe I'm not sure how we will be able to afford the surgery, but I know I need it... The Sleep Apnea is getting worse (I hate those morning migranes from lack of oxygen), and I can hardly walk now (more than 10 feet and I am looking for a place to sit)... I can no longer bathe myself (talk about a depressing thing), or even properly cleanse my backside (trying to be considerate in my words).... Thank goodness /i have such a LOVING and CARING husband that helps me... Anyway... That's about it... More later as things develop...
