Finally Out of the Slump

Mar 05, 2008

I finally have left he road block in  my weight loss.  It was 3.5 pounds this week lost.  I am glad to loose it!  I started "Boot Camp" and Jumba at my gym this week.  My thighs may never thank me.  I discovered with Jumba that I have 20 left feet and JLo has noting to worry about.  I don't have her ass or her dancing ability. Still no job.  But plan to use the time wisely at the gym.  Plan to attend the play this Friday at Thomas More College put on by the Irish American Theater COmpany.  Should be good.  Can't hardly wait for pool weather.  Thats it for now.

3rd fill

Feb 28, 2008

After Tuesday nights meeting one of the ladies recomended I ask Dr. Tom for a little extra on my fill.I did and he did.  I am now at 2.2.  I hope this gets my body jump started.  The plastic surgeon was interesting at the support meeting.  I only wish we could meet everyweek.  If anyone ever wants to get together for coffee and talk.  Email me.

2nd fill

Feb 01, 2008

I got my second fill of .5 on Thursday. Don't notice a difference just yet.  I am at 1.5 cc don't know if thats the average.  Don't have many hours at work.  Got passed over again for a scheduled position by someone with less senority.  Still not gettting the promised hours every pay period.  Having a stroke sucks.  Getting screwed over by the hosiptal that almost killed you is even worse.

I'm Walking on SUnshine...OH YEAH! and it feels good1

I had my surgical follow up today and got my 1st fill.  I go back in 2 weeks for another.  NO gallbladder pain.  I went back to work in the ER on Tuesday.  I feel great.  The weather man may say its raining. But in my world the SUn is Shinning.

Surgery Went Great

Dec 29, 2007

ON the 27th of December Dr. Tom and his crew removed my gallbladder and reinserted my port.  I spent the night at St. Luke West as a precaution.  All went well. Dr. tom said I should get my first fill in 2 weeks.  The onQ system works great.  Only taken 3 pain pills since I got home.  I will continue to inject myself with blood thinners for a week.  Everything was great.  WHen I woke in recovery who was sitting their monitoring my care but Dr. TOm.  I felt like a celebrity. Everywhere I went in the hospital someone was saying, "I remember you".  I promised them an uneventful visit and they promised me the same.  From Dr. Tom, to Steve in anisysia, to Amy, Sarah, Becky and Betty along with their aids Melinda and Olive, it was a wonderful stay.  I am on my way to a thinner, healthier me.

Thanks for the prayer everyone,
Amy

HARD TO TAKE CARE OF THE FAMILY

Dec 06, 2007

With all the health issues that have popped up thought I should get some life insurance. Just something to take care of Dan and the kids if something happened to me. NOPE, they denied me. Insurance companies SUCK!!!

More surgery

Nov 01, 2007

I have been living with horrible pain since July.  I was sent to the ER where they referred me to my gynecologist.  Who then sent me to the gastroenterologist?  I have had CT scan, small bowel series and cervical ultrasound. All with no answer.  So I started looking at the medicines I take my Plavix says abdominal pain is a side effect. Neurologist doesn't agree said to go to my pcp. Instead I went to Dr. Tom who ordered a gallbladder ultrasound.  YUP, it needs to come out.  Now we are trying to see if insurance will allow the port to be put back at the same time.  Isn’t life grand?  Started a new job in September doing registrations in a hospital.  Decided I wanted to be on this side of the desk for a change.  I like this side much more.

Scale still stuck

Sep 18, 2007

I have been working out 5 days a week at the gym. Doing cardio: elipical, treadmill, bike & stairs, then 3 days a week weights. Along with aqua classes 3-5 days a week. Plus walking my 2 dogs and the scale has not moved the past few weeks. I need that PORT or I will lose my mind. I need help and need it badly. I will be starting a 2nd job next week ..don't know yet how it will affect my workouts but you gotta do what you gotta do. If you read this say a prayer for a successful insersion of my port.

Great Meeting

Aug 30, 2007

THe TUesday night meeting was great.  I just wish we could meet weekley.  I am concered that with the merge of St. Luke and St. E that we might lose the TriState Weight Loss Center and what a shame/crime that would be.  If anyone is out there looking for a surgeon.  Look no further than Dr. Tom SOnnanstine, world class talents, caring I would do it again in a min.  THe education and support are top notch.  I lost 5 more pounds.  I only weigh myself at Dr. Tom's or the gym as I don't trust my home scale.
SPent Wednesday at the gym...boy do my hips hurt.  I walked , biked, climbed stairs, oliptical, then went on to the weight room for the next hour.  Then onto the pool for 2 classes...boy was I tired last night.  BUt it felt GREAT!!!I I'm Alive and LIFE IS GREAT!!!!
