Hey Kay, Just stopping by to congratulate you on getting your surgery date. Wow, what a great B'day present! I know how excited you are and see from your profile we have a lot in common. My surgery was Jan 3rd (right before my B'day), and I'm 44. (WLS in 40's) I feel this has been a "God thing" for me too, and such a blessing! I'm doing great and wish I could've had this years ago~~I feel like I have my life back. Enough about me, I know that you will do GREAT TOO!!! You will be in my thoughts and prayers for an uneventful surgery and the speediest of recoveries. May you feel God's peace and love surround you during this time. If you'd ever like to share, just give me a 'holler', I always love hearing from everyone. Take Care & God Bless You~~~Lisa

Well, today is 2/21/06 and I had my first appt. with my bariatric doctor. It went very well and he spoke in detail with my husband and I. I have my appts. with for my psych. and nutr. in early March. My before pic. was taken and all other information put in the file including all the medical problems I have. Boy do I qualify!!! There is one hitch in this. My husband is an Air Force Surgical Nurse. Coming from a medical standpoint, he sees first all the risks of the surgery and what could happen to me. His comment was, "I dont want to lose you". I can sympathise with that and told him so but I also pointed out that with everything there is a risk. I could be killed driving down the road or with all the health issues I have, be dead in less than ten years of heart problems or stroke. I said to him,"which one of the two are you willing to bet on, the surgery and my ultimate good health returning baring any complications or leaving me the way I am and in this physical shape." He thought about it all the way home. He looked at me and said, "If you do not do this, you might live (or die) regretting it." I kissed him and told him thankyou. Am I nervous? Heck yah! But I am so beyond ready to do this. As soon as the doctor gets the results from those other two appts., they will call and set the date. I am hoping for Tues. March 28th. More posting to come.
