Surgery Date April 2nd

Mar 12, 2007

So much to do.  Tomorrow will be the blood work and the upper and lower GI.  To make things worse my husband woke up sick this morning so that means I will be going by myself.  I'm really looking to get this over and so scared something will come up it will have to be cancelled or postponed.

I've read some of your posts and believe me I will follow the 10 day diet before the operation, that's for sure.

Why does time fly so fast but when you are ready to do something it drags?

Surgery Date April 2nd

Mar 08, 2007

WOW!  I spent all of Wednesday at the Mobile Infirmary Hospital.  My second visit with the doctor and last till I see him in the operating room.  I went through the seminar on what to eat and not eat, supplements and vitamins needed and a diet for the 10 days pre-op.  I can't believe it has gone so fast.  I started inquiring about this in this past February when I learned Medicare would cover this operation.  Here I am set up for a date by the 2nd of April.  Just two more steps.  I do all the out-patient tests and blood work the 13th of March and diet the last 10 days.  Then the operation.

Waiting

Mar 03, 2007

3/3/07 - I'm playing the waiting game.  Next Wednesday I go for the seminar and then set a date.  I've called the Hospital questionsing my insurance but they assure me it will go through.  This is with Medicare and TRICARE For Life picking up on the 20%.  Wednesday I see the doctor again to ask anything I might have forgot the first visit and set the date.  They tell me they are not over booked at this time and should be able to get in right away.  I'm looking forward to changing my life forever, what is left of it.  I just don't want to grow old and be in a nursing home because of my weight.

Is there anyone out there a senior citizen that is getting ready or has been through this surgery?  Would love to hear from you
