I've been heavy since I was a teenager and I'm just sick of it! It took me years to make the decision to have Lap-Band. It seemed that everyone I knew that had weight loss surgery got a divorce. I have the most wonderful husband in the world and I kept thinking that I would rather be fat and happily married than thin and alone. Finally with enough support from him and years to feel really stable in the marriage, I took the plunge.....
I had surgery on September 19, 2007 and it's been great (well mostly great)! After that initial couple of days of pain, the pounds started coming off.
As of today, December 11, I've lost 44 pounds and had to replace all my clothes! Yippee!!!
I have a long way to go... 98 more pounds to my goal but it is feeling like I might actually get there.
