Walking helps

Mar 22, 2012

I'm ten days out of surgery.  I've been walking a few miles a day on the treadmill and did the wife's elliptical a few times, but today I just didn't want to be looking at the backside of the garage door, pretending its fun. I packed up my newly created "To Go" bag which holds my water, Chrystal light, and msc. juice, and headed 30 minutes to Green Lake, near Seattle. I've always wanted to walk the 2.8 mile pathway around it, but always feared the shin splints, exhaustion, or sweat would be overly uncomfortable. Well today the sun was somewhat out and I chose to do it. It was a blast i made the loop in 53 minutes, slow for most folks, but I did a brisk walk without stopping. I never felt better.

I can say, the sleeve has been a blessing, but if you  are still making up your mind on the WLS, be sure you understand the sleeve just helps you get to full faster, but the cravings, the sugar , the fats, can 100% kill your weight loss. I know a few people that are addicted to sugar and they are systematically gaining  their weight back. You will still need to do the high protein low carb diet for ever!

I choose protein and nutrition over obesity from now on!

Strangley Easy

Mar 20, 2012

I'm 8 days post op, and I find it very strange how normal I feel. I've actually felt 100% since day 3, lucky me I guess. I attribute it to following the pre-op diet to the "T" and having  had lost 40 pounds prior to the surgery.  I am surprised, however that I can drink liquids  relatively easy. I also have an amazing amount of support at home, as my wife Michele is  excercising and eating nutritious  foods.
