Hovering on 50 lb down

Jan 07, 2012

Well my friday weigh in (just being curious)  I needed to know.   49 lbs down, at 9 weeks out.  This is hard work but worth every minute.  I have great friend supports that look at what's Diane bringing to day.  Portion size doesn't seem to be a problem when everyone at the table has to taste the new soup.  I find I like soup (homemade) it tends to be my staple.  Last night tried my favorite Salmon (poached)  well that was great, no pouch problems.
Recent trip to the US for speciality items for WLS friendly meals. Here is some of my favorites:
Kraft Spreads:  90ml jars
-blue cheese
-sharp cheddar
Tops SF syrup
Swiss miss SF hot chocolate

Mental hunger demond comes every night between 8-10.  Must find something to beat this one.

weigh in at work

Dec 13, 2011

Weigh in at work today 239 first time in 20 years I've been under 240.  Yeh.
2 Christmas dinners today....I report to two different department, and both on the same day.  Unfortunately can't get out of either.  Lunch at Moxies and Dinner at Ruth Chris....checked out menu on line and I think I have a plan.  Last two days I've actually felt full and uncomfortable after 1/2 cup of food.  This is new. Nauseated at times too...Getting all fluids and protein in.
Working on exercise.  Enjoy your day.  Diane

Weigh in at work

Dec 08, 2011

After a 2 week stall.  (what's with that, only 5 weeks out post op) Finally the scales moved this week 38.5 weight loss.  I only weigh myself once a week now, and had to go into work to drop some paperwork off.  I liberated myself 10 days ago and threw out the scales at home, forcing me only to weigh at work.
Getting all my fluids in and 60 g of protein minimum.
Must buy some new running shoes, crocks are unsightly (so all my family says...ok I get it)
Looking forward to date night, local dive bar.
Planning WLS friendly dinner at our house with friends Saturday.

Christmas parties have begun

Dec 04, 2011

Well I can now say:
"I can successfully participate in social gatherings and food is not my enemy!"
Friday-  Restaurant dinner with co workers and I made healthy choices, left lots of food on my plate (unfortunately too fancy of a
place to ask for take home...probably could but no one else did).  Parked 20 minutes away and walked to and from the
  restaurant.

Saturday- dinner with friends and 2 hours of appetizers lingering around.  2 small pieces of cheese and 2 small cauliflower
pieces.  Left dinner table feeling comfortable.  I was in charge of birthday cake and I bought a small lemon/raspberry cake (not
my favorite, so it made it very easy not to taste).  I took lots of pre mixed crystal light in water bottles and sipped all night.  No
wine yet, but maybe a sip on Christmas when I'm safely surrounded by my family who will keep me safe and not judge :).

Monday:  here is a potential sabotage, but I will take control.
Cookie exchange with friends.  Christmas must go on.  It's more important to keep traditions, friends and social events.  The
goodies will go in the trailer beside the house in containers and pull out only when visitors come.  Besides my family will eat
them all before Christmas...out of sight out of mind.

As far as entertaining I made some of "worldaccordingtoeggonface" mini muffins.  Low carb/low call muffins and took them to the Saturday dinner.  Everyone loved them and gave me an option if required.  (didn't need it this time, but maybe next time).

NSV:  I actually stood 30 minutes talking with people.  I would have had to sit on something, could never stand that long without sciatic pain.

We have too many items plugged into the Rogers HD box

Dec 01, 2011

Well technology has caught up with us at our house, Surround sound, Combo dvd/vcr, tv and now PS2.  So calling on a friend this weekend to help us set up kinect/PS2 looking forward to playing Zumba...  So no swimming last night but for the first time in months went by myself for a 35 minute (pain free) walk.  It felt amazing.  We're going out tonight husband's Christmas party so I must get a walk in early.  I feel like I'm getting into the "zone".
