OMG 447lbs. That's 113.2 lbs. in one year.

Jul 24, 2007

Well my weight loss program has now become a year old.  In July 06, I weighed in at 560.2 lbs.  By January 07 I had to get to 500 lbs. in order to get the surgery.  On 01/29/07 I had the lap band and now in July 07 I weigh 447 lbs.  That is 113.2 lbs. in one year. It has been hard at times but the goal remains.

Stomach flu ouch!!!

What used to be a couple days of vomiting and diariah turned into a hospital stay.  I had to have my band deflated and be under doctor care for two days.
Finally home and felling better.  Look forward to filling my band up again.

Bought my first 24 speed mtn bike

May 29, 2007

After weeks of research I finally picked a Bicycle. On Friday I got a 22" Giant Rincon Bike.  I also got the trailer to haul Lindsay around in.  I've been walking each day and I have ridden also.  The gel seat helps some but I do have some saddle soreness.  Once I get started it mellows out.  Riding to the several parks in my neighborhood has been really cool.
When I'm riding my daughter Lindsay is silent and loving the breaze.  It is her bike. She asks for her bike ride several times a day.  More importantly I got a Hitch bike rack. Now my whole family can go anywhere to ride.  The Beach and Bay are real nice here in San Diego, CA.  Giving myself more opportunities to exercise has been important and has helped relieve the boring same old thing.  Between walking my dogs and using the YMCA for light resistance training the bike and jogging after my daughter I seem to have created an easy way to stay active.  I love It!!!!

99 lbs. OMG

Apr 25, 2007

I would have done almost anything to pass 100lbs.  It is nice to know I am right there.
The real first goal for me is 140 lbs. This would be 25% of my original body weight.
Amazing that I've lost 18% since August 06.

exercising and eating right

Apr 24, 2007

My goodness,  How quickly you can turn around a difficult time.  After incorporating my eating plan, exercise was the next item to expand.  I have done 2 resistance training sessions, walked for 1 hour 4 times, rode my bike for 30 minutes twice.  In the last week. I weigh in today. I am fully confident I will surpass the 460 lbs. Or 100lbs lost.  This weight has been the most difficult to mentally and physically attain.  After being mentally down for a couple of weeks 2 months out from surgery I have made a transformation.  I seem to learn best from my own experiences good or bad.  I am now riding the positive weightloss wave.  I know I will wipeout along the way,  Exercise is the key to getting back on the board.  Having survived through this has made me stronger. The endorphines released while exercising deffinately make a huge change in my demeanor and wellbeing.  I feel stronger physically and mentally.  Tighening up my body with core body trainning makes the mid section area a strength instead of my weakness.   I love loose skin and the wrinkling caused by my efforts.

Amazing what preperation can do....

Apr 19, 2007

Sunday I went to the store and purchased my food for the week. I made five bags one for each day.  I have popped them in my cooler and have enjoyed having the proper food available when I need it.  Before I would wait too long to eat and not always make the proper choices. Exercising has become a bigger daily priority.
In fact I went for a 3-hour hike in my canyon and after went to water aerobics with my wife.  I felt so good.  So yesterday after 6 days doing what I should I had dropped 12 lbs.  Today I will see my surgeon with the good news.  Your whole being improves after rebounding from a difficult time.  The best part of this last experience was only struggling with food for about 2 weeks.  Before I would have struggled for 2 months or even 2 years.  I am working towards the day when I watch what I eat for a week to get back to 225lbs. Today it feels closer than ever.  Outside forces can dramatically influence how you treat your insides.  Recovering from down times in as short a period of time as possible will shorten the overall length of time to obtain a new healthy you.  My tool for weight loss only works if I work too. The mental process of falling off and getting back on really impresses your determination and focus of the overall long-term goal.

Honeymoon is over.

Apr 16, 2007

I have been struggling for a few weeks now.  I have been going in to see my doctors every other week.  I do not do well in this format. I need more strict supervision. Through June, I have weekly appointments scheduled to avoid the mental difficulties I experience when I do not have to report to someone.  I have a terrible time monitoring myself.  The zoning out and not thinking of what you put in has given me the power to reinvigerate my weightloss success.  The most important aspect for me is preperation.  I have already made my meals for th week.  I know I will do better.
