The Final Four...

Aug 08, 2013

In four days I will be changed forever and I cannot wait. Although I am at the weight that a lot of Gastric Bypass patients hope to achieve, my journey has led me through some dark places. Amongst the insurance denials was a glimmer of hope that had me working out so hard that I was barely able to move and watching my calories so closely I could have written...only to find that I gained. The scale became such an enemy that my wife hid it from me. 2 days before I heard that my surgery is finally approved, my minivan fell off the jacks stand that I just put under it. It crushed my chest from side to side, but all I ended up with was a torn rotator cuff. I was spared where others have not survived. I have vowed to roll with change. During my rehab I have been working just a little harder so that I do not suffer such setbacks during my post op recovery. I am so ready and thankful for this opportunity, and I am so ready to drop the weight, but the long term health effects are what I most look forward to. We are in the Final Four!!!!
