Getting back on track...

Apr 09, 2008

Well, I decided I've taken enough time off from the program. This week I began my walking again and back on the shakes, protein and picking the right foods way of life. I have been stuck at the same weight for almost 4 months now. Although I am happy I haven't gained, I could be "HAPPIER" if I'd lost a few. I actually still have another 25 to 30 lbs to go, so I had to get going! Wish me luck!!!

Haven't moved an ounce...

Feb 12, 2008

Well, my scale hasn't reflected a move down of even one ounce on the scale since my last posting of December 4th. The good thing is that It hasn't moved up either. But what REALLY hasn't moved is ME!!! I have gotten out to exercise so sporadically that it greatly disappoints me. I have got to finish this. Another 25 lbs. won't be easy, but it's somehting that I must do. I hope to have more successful news next time I post. Wish me luck!!!

My first 5K!

Dec 04, 2007

Well, Saturday of Thanksgivine weekend I participated in my first 5K!! It was a fundraiser for our daughter's high school band. The course is through a neighborhood with the steepest of hills which makes it an EXTREMELY difficult course. But the last two weeks I did my walking through those hills and did 9 minutes better than I had allowed myself. And the next day only my daughter & I (who runs cross country) were the only ones not sore. (My husband was almost falling over from the pain). I have been at a loooooong plateau for almost a month, but this week I am back on track upping my protein & exercise in an effort to get this moving. Here's looking forward to a beautiful Christmas and New Year!

The holidays are coming...

Oct 10, 2007

Here I am in early October, with a slow but pretty steady weight loss. I am now down 68 lbs, (50 since surgery May 10th). I often hit plateaus but fortunately have not had any weeks with weight gain. I try to keep up the walking and do pretty well when I do walk. I seem to be letting a few days with no excercise before I get back on track. My schedule is very busy with my kids activities so I am in no way just being sedentary! I am craving my old foods lately. Just alot of junk like burgers & ribs and especially french fries. I don't give in because the restriction keeps me from enjoying them to the level that makes them satisfying. MY 3rd fill is scheduled for Tuesday next week. I postponed it from September because I still had quite a bit of restriction. My Thanksgiving day goal is 180 lbs. That means 13 lbs in about 6 weeks. I sure will have to work hard! Other than that, everything seems to be going well. I get lots of positive compliments from friends & coworkers. I am now wearing a loose size 14, but am not quite a 12 yet. (Soon)! My next post will be around Thanksgiving! Let's hope I reach my goal!

Moving along..

Aug 29, 2007

I haven't had much to post lately. My weight loss is moving along at a consistent pace of 1 to 2 lbs a week. As of today I have lost 58 lbs since consult (40 since surgery, May 10th). I have been pretty good about doing my walking and have noticed that when I slack off on my walking, my weight loss stops. Where it is most noticeable is in my clothes. I began at a size 22 and have been wearing a 14 for a week now. As we are rarely happy with ourselves and slight successes, I now can only see the looseness. I think I need to begin some weight training to tone & tighten. My second fill seemed to work well for me. I eat but in only limited quantities. I hope to hit Onederland soon!

Two months out

Jul 11, 2007

Well yesterday was two months since surgery. I am still pretty much on all self discipline. My total loss to date is 44 lbs., (18 of it pre-op), which isn't too bad but would be better if I continued losing at the same rate. It's another three weeks until my next fill. I'm hoping this will allow me to experience restriction. It has been getting too easy to "test taste" some of the meals I have been preparing for my family. But still, I'm eating less than I used to. After being sick with lots of congestion, I have gotten back out there to do some walking. Hopefully this will kick start the losing again. I've been stuck at the same weight for almost two weeks now. Three days after my fill, I'm off to a camping trip in Kings Canyon (my avatar pic). I sure am looking forward to that! Maybe the fill and vacation activity will help me make a big jump forward on this journey. Right now I'm hoping to get as close to 200# as possible before I leave.

Five weeks post...

Jun 20, 2007

Well, tomorrow I will be five weeks post surgery. I am about 38 pounds lost, although this includes 18 pound from consult to pre-op . After the liquid/mushy stages I never really felt restriction so it was all self discipline. I think I did pretty well. Where I haven't done so well is I began walking immediately after surgery EVERYDAY for 45 to 60 minutes for the first four weeks. I haven't seen the light of day for a week now! I have got to get back out there! I had my first fill yesterday. After a couple of days on liquids & mushies again, we'll see how it goes. Otherwise, I'm feeling great! I'll feel greater when the scale moves.

Tic Toc Tic Toc...

Apr 18, 2007

Well, I'm just waiting for the call to give me a date and time sure does go by slowly at this point.  I'm hoping for the first week of May.  I am in the middle of my 4th week of "living the life" (as the nut put it), and I've lost about 14 lbs.  The portion control along with the chewing and eating slowly really has so much to do with it.  So here I am awaiting the call. Tic Toc Tic Toc.....

Consult down! I think I'm on my way!

Mar 07, 2007

Well, I had my consult yesterday.  I was nervous and both excited at the same time.  It helped to have others in the waiting room with positive post-op experiences.  The doctor and his nurse were great. Their patience made me feel I wasn't just another patient passing through.  I am set up for the psych and nut appointments both within the next two weeks.  Let's see how it goes.......
