New to OH !!!

1st Appointment with Dr. Bauman and Northeast Weight Management Center on 2/21. Excited about meeting them and getting an idea of "when" the surgery might be scheduled. Anxious to "get the ball rolling" -- would love to have surgery scheduled sometime in May if it is at all possible -- before my son (sophomore in high school) is out for the summer!
Already have approval from PCP and Ob/Gyn. Completed the Psych eval on 2/8 and Mammogram scheduled for 2/27. I think that only leaves the Upper GI to be scheduled; hopefully, that's all I need to submit for insurance approval.
I have a sister who had gastric bypass surgery about 4 years ago and she did well -- lost her weight; She'll tell you that the GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY SAVED HER LIFE!!! She was diagnosed with a malignant 29 pound tumor (stomach) 2 years afterwards and who knows if the cancer would have been diagnosed in time without the surgery!!
My brother recently (March 2006) also had this surgery -- he is down +200 pounds. Isn't that amazing!! He also says that it is the best thing he has done for his health!!! He is now able to do many things that he wasn't able to do before -- life is good!!!!
Now it's my turn and I can't wait!!! I'd love for my son and husband to see a "lot less of me" in the upcoming months!!! I know it will be a new lifestyle, but I'm ready!!
