My story is like 90% of this site, I have fought the battle with fat and losed.  I guess I have reached a fork in the battle that I never expected.  Hearing words like Diabetes and High Blood Pressure, what a rattle to my fat world.  I had thyroid surgery a little over a year ago, it was completely removed.  I met my Endo looking for a second opinion after initial test results.  I can still remember his words "we need to get you healthy", he would then tell me about Dr. Davis.  I put the surgery on the back burner too much was going on.  I was generally a "healthy fat person", so the thyroid issue threw me off.  But its so funny how God works,  my fear of surgery was what kept me from getting the bypass or the lapband.  My thyroid would change all that, and though the scare would change my life forever...I'm on medication, but it caused me to have to go through what I feared.  The operation went smoothly, and the hospital staff was GREAT.  At the same time of my dilema, a co-worker got a bypass done.  She like many of us suffered throughout her life with her weight, but watching her made it real.  Her transformation was amazing to watch.  I look forward to the future, and living it in a smaller frame.  After six months of a supervised diet, I would learn I am Type II, that sealed it for me.  I look to the future with new hope....
