My New Lifestyle (and first blog ever)... 2Feb08 5:48 a.m.

I responded to a post and another member asked me a question. After I answered it I thought...I never do a blog, but this may be a perfect thing for me to use to begin one. So here is how I am operating within my weight loss journey thus far...

The way I keep my calories down, and protein up is this:
1 Atkins Shake, 15g protein & 160 cal. + 6 scoops of Beneprotein power, 36g protein & 150 cal. I shake the powder into the shake real well and divide it in half...there is breakfast and lunch. Remember your body can only process 25g or protein at a time so that is why I split this shake between two meals. I have 2 quarts of water each day and in each quart I add one pack of Special K Protein water mix, a total of 10g protein and 60 cal.

This is a total of 370 calories and 61g of protein.

I get up at 4 am and go to Anytime Fitness and exercise like a crazy woman. While I am there I get in my 1st quart of water.

I get home and get my child up and ready, off to school then I am off to work and there by 7:30 am. While at work I drink my 2nd quart of water and I will have a cup of chicken broth (fat free and 10 cals. so I don’t even count those calories because I burn them just walking to the microwave to heat it up).

At home after work I make dinner and will choose to make something that I can eat to. I weigh and calorie count my food not to exceed 130 to 150 calories.

Because I am up so early I go to bed at 9 pm...the same time as my child. Then I do it all over again the next day. (Except on Sunday…my day of rest & relaxation).

This is doable because I am getting the exercise in, therefore I am gaining energy and a "must do" spirit to being nothing but successful with this weight loss journey. It isn't easy; however I am encouraged because since the surgery I am able to be nutritionally sustained on so little and I am NOT ever hungry. I am getting all the vitamins that I require through supplements, the food & nutritious drinks I consume. Yet the best thing is…I AM SEEING THE RESULTS on the scale and in my clothes. That more than anything feeds me an amazing energy of which I am so grateful. Remember this is a short season in life, the first year or so post op where you can get by on so little and that is why such a huge percentage of the unwanted weight leaves…so operate within this season wisely.
