It's a new year and a new me! I am five months post op and I'm down 50 lbs. I know others have lost more weight than I have in the same amount of time but I feel great and I look great. I still have 90 more lbs to lose before I get to goal weight of 140 but I finally feel that I will reach my goal. Friends have been giving me smaller clothes since I said I don't want to spend any money on clothes until I get under 200 lbs. Today I tried on a pair of jeans that a friend gave me and they were a size 18 and I looked great in them! I have gone from a size 26/28 in most things to a size 18 jeans and that is incredible for me. More and more people are noticing that I am losing weight and their comments are very encouraging. I can hardly wait to reach my first big goal which is to be under 200lbs. Today I weighed 222 lbs and when I started out five months ago I was 273lbs. I still dump occasionally and I know I don't get enough protein and water in but all in all I think I am doing well. I don't regret the surgery but if people ask me I would recommend the lapband more so than the gastric bypass becuase my friends that had the lapband are doing just as well as me without as drastic a surgery as the RNY. I will post a picture as soon as I can.
