I'm 18 years old and I've been overweight for as long as I can remember. School was never a joy because everyone needed to point out how fat I was all the time, (kids these days?). I've had the lowest self-esteem and take any compliment as a joke or a way to get something out of me. I'm 5'9 and 310lbs. I've been told I carry the weight proportionally, but all I see are rolls. I've decided to get the sleeve procedure (VSG) so that I may get a new lease on life. I'm tired of getting dirty looks when I board airplanes, or being afraid to try to fit on rollercoasters. I'm sick of being written off as just another heavy person with no self-control. I just want to live the life of a normal 18 year old college student and get some self-esteem! My surgery is scheduled for January 29, 2010 and I couldn't be more excited.
