Tri-City Regional Medical Center (COE)

"This is a one-story hospital, so that was different than what I've experience before. The Lobby was clean and nicely decorated. We arrived at 5:00 in the morning. No outside security that we saw and no covered parking. Waited approximatley 30 minutes to be checked in. Check in was quick and was taken to the room I would be in after surgery. Had two LVN that tried 3 times to start an IV and a phlebotomist that tried twice to get blood. I know that I am a hard stick but I have never seen three people so incompetent. I advised the two LVN not touch me anymore and requested that the IV be placed by the anesthesiologist. By the time I was taken to the operating room, I was a nervous wreck and crying. No one tried to calm my fears or acknowlege what I went through. No compassion what so ever. Although I had a private room, there was not a shower in the room, it was in the hall way. They came and asked if I wanted to take a shower and was shocked that I said "NO." I will take a sponge bath before I use a "community" shower. My doctor was great and the licensed nurses were okay but appeared to be going through the motions. There was one LVN that was extremely friendly, except.....i didn't ask you to tell me your life story (I think she needed to vent so I listened with a compassionate ear) However, If I had a choice, I would never go back to this facility again! Brian Quebbemann

"Dr. Quebbemann (Dr. Q for short) was excellent. He spent approx. an hour with me an my husband. Very well knowledgeable, articulate, and skilled doctor. He took his time explaining the procudure and also his level of success in the New Program. Dr. Quebbemann has a 0% mortality rate, which was important to me when choosing a doctor for such a serious procedure. He strongly recommend aftercare which is vital to your success after WLS. I would highly recommend Dr. Q and the New Program."

Huntington Beach Hospital

"Overall the staff at the hospital was great, especially the prep nurses and the operating staff. They made me feel comfortable (which I needed because I was a nervous reck. My night nurse on the other hand was not very attentive. She came promptly when called but really didn't take much interest in her patients. My morning nurse was great, very caring and checked on me constantly. "
