24) 8/17/07 i just went to work and informed my boss of all the good news and everyone seemed to be happy about everything for me. just another 24 days to go and then a wake up

23) 8/18/07 just starting my weekend off to a good start with 23 days togo

22) 8/19/07 im just going crazy at work because most of my customers found out that i am having surgery on september 10th. 22 days togo

21) 8/20/07 just at home waiting to be a loser. lol 21 days togo.

20) 8/21/07 i just came from the eye doctor and picked up my brand new pair of glasses, i went to get my eyes check last thursday and it was found i need glasses. so i got them and i really like them. well 20 days to go and then im a loser. lol

19) 8/22/07 i was at work today just thinking about nothing much when i realize that i only have 19 days togo till a wake up

18) 8/23/07 hello everyone, i am alittle disappointed in myself. i gained 2lbs this week and i can only do one thing and that is to bring my plan B aka my a game. only 18 days togo. godbless to all and your journey in a new life.

17) 8/24/07 i dont yet have news about what date they will bring me into the hospital to intall the special filters into my legs, because the surgeon thought to play it safe and to intall thoose filter things into my legs so incase the blood clots form in my legs it will catch and destroy the blood clots. only 17 days to go before i wake up as the new and improved Anthony. wish me luck

16) 8/25/07 hello to all on OH, i would just like to give an update with 16 days togo, i was just told by my surgeons office that on 8/30/07 that i will sign all consent forms as well as get all official times and date for the wls and other procedures prior to the wls. wish me luck. i will have fun signing all thoose papers.lol

15) 8/26/07 hello all, i would just like to check in with everyone, i am still doing good and just waiting for tomorrow, because i will start my liquid diet  and see if i can do it on my own. my doctor hasnt ordered me on the liquid diet yet, but i thought i would try to do it before it is requested of me. i will keep you posted on how i do. only 15 days to go and and a wake up.

14) 8/27/07 with 14 days togo, i start the dreaded liquid diet, i hate that liquid diet shit, but if thats what i need to do then thats what i need to do. . i did pretty ok on my liquid but i did cheat. i hope tomorrow will be better for me. please pray for me.

13) 8/28/07 hi to all, i just want you to know that with 13 days togo i am fucking up big time but i seem to catch myself in time. i havent yet got the word from my surgeons office to start the liquid diet but i am trying to do it on my own and i must tell you this shit is so freakin hard. wish me luck.

12) 8/29/07 hello to all, i would just like to let all know that i go to the surgeons office tomorrow with my wife to sign my consent papers and it was told to me that i have so much paper work to fill out that i should be there for about 90 minutes. i hate that shit. i dont like to read, i wish they just said please sign here, please sign here, but fuck it it is my life were talking about but with 12 days togo i will let you know how everything goes. i promise

11) 8/30/07 hello everybody, i just came from the surgeons office and so far everything has been given the green light for surgery. i just signed all the consent forms and will be given all the times and detail as far as when to go in for the istallment of the filters in my legs, i will find that out tomorrow, but as far as what time to be in the hospital for gastric bypass, i will find that out sometime next week. with only 11 days togo, i need all the prayers in the world from all the OH members for everything to go smooth.

10) 8/31/07 hello everybody, i am just updating because i realied that i have 10 more days togo and i made a promise to up date every day until i go in for my surgery. i just want everyone to know that i am going into the hospital on the 6th to have thoose things inserted into the arteries of my legs. the items are called (green filters). the purpose of have theese filters installed in my legs is to catch any and all blood clots thay my form and to destroy it, the filters are only installed because i am at high risk for blood clots due to present leg problems i am going thru. please pray for me that all goes well on September 6th, but the 10th will be my gastric bypass surgery, but also pray for me on the 10th as well, because i love and need all the prayers i can get. i also want everyone to know that i just bought this thing called (isopure) its a protein powder that you can mix with water or milk, but i choose to mix it with water because im cheap. lol. i will also start it tomorrow. the purpose of me using this product is for me to supplement my breakfast and lunch for this isopure and then when dinner comes around i will eat a very healthy well balanced  dinner. i will let you know how it goes.

9) 9/01/07 i can't believe that my surgery is in 9 days. i still as of this have been given the green light to go ahead with the surgery. please keep the prayers coming. i to all i know and dont know i still love you all. well im back from work and i had the isopure for breakfast and lunch and what i found out is that i really wasnt hungry thru the whole day, but in the morning and afternoon i did have alot of egg white with chedder cheese and that stuff really did the trick and was reall tasting good, when i bought the isopure at g.n.c. i bought the creamy vanilla flavor and it tast good but it smells like the powder cake mix from betty crocker so when i drink it i imagine that im eating cake. lol wish me luck for this isopure thing as nothing has really worked for me but i must admit this has trully worked for me because i havent cheated today at all. 

8) 9/02/07 hello to everyone, i would like to just say that it is trully a pleasure to make all of you my friend and family because without all of you i really dont know if i ever would have made it thru this whole journey. i only have about 8 days to go and i am getting somewhat nervous, i guess it is pretty normal being i never had such serious surgery like this before. i wish all thoose who are having the surgery to please stick with it because if not i still will love you guys but dont hurt yourself by quitting because you hurt more than yourself, you hurt your family the most.

7) 9/03/07 hello to everyone, i would like to say that this day went by fairly quickly and all i can say with 7 days to go is YESSSSSSSSS, i will soon be a loser, i never realize that i was so happy to soon be called a loser. i started to take pictures on my digital camera with all my co-workers as wednesday the 5th will be my last day of work until i return from surgery. i will take as many pictures as i can off my digital camera to show you my life at home, work and throughout my weight loss journey. i would also like to say to each and everyone on here thank you so much for the love and support that you have shown me in the past, present and what is to come in the futur, because without people like you i might have not made it thru this whole weight loss journey.

6) 9/04/07 hi there to all, i would like to say that tomorrow is my last day of work and i will miss a few people at my job. im so amazed that after researchng this whole wls thing for many year and then its finally at my front door-step its like so sureal with the knowing that in 6 more days i will goto sleep and wake up as a new person with a new birthdate. please wish me luck tomorrow and also pray that i dont cry infront of everybody at work, because if anybody knows me they know that i cry over things like this.

5) 9/05/07 hi there i just came home from work and i must admit that i did pretty good as far as not crying, i did however recieve a call from overlook hospital, they were just confirming my appointment for me to be there at 1230pm so that they can drawn my blood and to do some pre-admin work for the same-day surgery procedur called insertion of a green field filter in my legs to avoid blood clot from attacking me. wish me luck that all goes well. i only have 5 more days till my big day.

4) 9/06/07 hello all, i would just like to let each and everyone to know that i go in today to have the filters installed in my legs to catch and prevent blood clots from going up and taking me out. please pray for me that everything goes well for me on this day. only 4 more days to go and im happy as all knows to wake up as a new person on the 10th as that will be my new birthday. godbless you all and thank you for your love and support because if not for such wonderful people such as yourself, i really dont know if i would have made it thru. i will keep all of you informed about how this day went on this day when i get back from the hospital. i just want all to know that i just got back from the hospital where they were supposed to cut me in the groin to insert the filters but the most interesting part i found is that they didn't even touch my legs to insert it, they went thru my jugular artery with a thin tub and then they passed the device thru my jugular artery to finally place it in the arteries in my legs. who would have ever thought that would be possible. i guess all i could say is that wow to the wonders of medicine and what they could do, i only can say that there are 2 people there that are very down to earth in the radiology department, his name is rick and the other is dr. mark kumar. theese are the two coolest people ever, you know your in good hands if you goto overlook hospital

3) 9/07/07 today is pretty much a hard day for me because my neck is pretty much sore from the procedure yesterday in the sense that i cant make any sudden moves to the right with my head because of the small incision they made to insert the filters, but as time is passing , the pain is getting less and less. only 3 more days and ill be joining all you losers. please save me a seat

2) 9/08/07 hi to all, i would just like to give a small update, i took off the bandages from the incision from the filter insertion site and the funny thing is it looks just like a small pin hole site as if i got an injection in my neck. lol . wellonly 2 more days to go before i become a loser

1) 9/09/07 hello to all of my OH family and a heart felt thank you to each and everyone that has stuck by me thru thick and thin even when i quit the surgery, i got back on the wls train because of alot of things, one of which a few of you guys out there whom made me see the light and all the wls has to offer, that and my wife was runing after me with a bat when she found out that i quit, so you all know that i was quick to step up my game. i would like to thank each and everyone on here for giving me the inspiration thru words and prayer for if it wasnt for people like you in this world for me sharing my life with you, i dont know if i would be alive today. well only 1 more day togo, i go in tomorrow for my life saving wls. i will be in overlook hospital in summit nj.

0) 9/10/07 Surgery Day this is the first day of the rest of my life. everything went well but they took alittle over 4 hours to do my surgery. im going thru some pain but im so glad that i am so that when all the weight starts to fall off, i will enjoy it that much more

SURGICAL PROCEDURES:
1) 4/13/06 draining of abses on right leg calf muscle @ Meadowlands hospital in seacaucus new jersey by DR. Brenda Miller

2) 6/06/07 a Pick line was surgically inserted thru the major vein in my arm and runs thru to the top major part inside part of my heart where i self pump (tobramycin) which is an antibiotic straight into the top portion of my heart.

3) i went to overlook hospital to surgically have 2 filters installed in my legs to avoid blood clots from passing to vital organs. everything went well. the surgeon that inserted the device was Dr. mark kumar and was assisted by rick 9/06/07

4) had gastric bypass surgery by dr. goyal and dr.
boulay on 9/10/07

5) i went to overlook hospital on 12/13/07 to remove the vena cava filter, but dr mark kumar was unable to remove the vena cava filter. i am glad the filters are still in, better safe than sorry

6) i had a PICC line insterted into my right arm to continue I.V. antibiotics infusion at home, the line was inserted on 11/03/08

7) i had a PICC line insterted into my right arm to continue I.V. antibiotics infusion at home, the line was inserted on 05/05/09.

HOSPITALIZED:
1) 4/11/06 admitted for cellulitus treatment and a abses that busted on my right leg calf muscle to drain alot of built-up fluid. i was operated on 2 days later 4/13/06 @ 12:oopm and was back in my room by about 2:00pm. i was discharged on 4/27/06. my treating doctor at the time was dr. elsayed sholluh @ Meadowlands hospital in seacaucus new jersey

2) 5/01/07 admitted for cellulitus treatment and for infection build up on right leg. legs were also swelling out of control, but everything is under control. im taking meds to control everything and i was discharged on 5/05/07. treating doctor was dr. jihad moukdad. Meadowlands hospital in seacaucus new jersey

3) 6/30/07 admitted for cellulitus treatment and infection in my legs. i was treated again at meadowlands hospital in secaucus new jersey. i was treated by dr. Maher badri, this doctor was the coolest doctor than all the other doctors i have ever meet. he really showed he cared not just in his care while in the hospital, but also i saw in his heart that he gave a shit about his patients. i was released from the hospital on 7/06/07. during my stay at the hospital they tranfered me to this other hospital called jersey city medical center where they surgically inserted whats called a (picc). a picc is basically an iv line but the only different between an iv line and a picc is that the picc line goes thru the vein in your arm and runs all the way to your heart. safe to say that the procedure went well but the feeling of learning how to use your arm again without hurting the implanted device can be somewhat tricky. the day after release from the hospital there is a nurse that came to my house with tons of medical equipment that i hook up into the picc line where i hang an iv bag that feeds me antibiotic to my heart that pumps into to the rest of my body

4) hospitalized for acute back pain and passing of kidney stones. i was treated by doctor puglisi in meadowlands hospital but i was after 1 full day

5) hospitalized for kidney stones, i was treated and released by dr. Gina puglisi @ meadowlands hospital

6) i was admitted to meadowlands hospital on 11/03/08 for cellulitus infection in my right leg and was released on 11/08/08. before letting me go, the hospital inserted a PICC line to continue my antibiotics

7) i was admitted to meadowlands hospital on 05/01/09 for cellulitus infection in my right leg and was released on 05/06/09. before letting me go, the hospital inserted a PICC line to continue my antibiotics

MY LIFE EXPERIENCE WITH WLS
06/07/07 i just recieved my C-PAP machine today and i am so glad i did recieve it because i have been sleeping like shit lately. sorry for the shit word slipping my mouth, but that is the way i have been feeling lately. i will keep everyone posted on how my experience is with the C-PAP machine goes so incase you are issued the machine you will know what to expect.

06/08/07 i just used the dreaded c-pap machine for the first time at home last night and i must tell you that only after the first treatment, it was alot more refreshing this morning to breath free from restriction of my airway and i didnt feel uncomfortable at all. the only thing is that once i turned it one all i had to do is turn it from 10.0 when it is first turned on to 4.0 after i hit the button to lower it. after 30 minutes it turns back up to 10.0 but i didn't even realize that it went back up because i was knocked out like a light. i hope this info help in some way for anyone reading this blog.

6/28/07 hello to everyone in the OH world, i would just like to give an update since i haven't given one in a long time. i just came back from taking all my blood work as well as my chest x-rays and i went to the physical rehab place to start a week excercis routine to become alittle stronger before and after surgery so that i can go into surgery stronger than i am now and to also be able to heal quicker. i go on 7/09/07 to go and complete the E.K.G. test part of the requirements done. i would just like everyone here to know that i might be going back into the hospital on this coming monday or tuesday due to the cellulitus on my legs leaking large amount of fluid. i will try to keep everyone posted on what is going on. i will try to bring my laptop with me to keep potsing for everyone on here to be aware of my status. as for a wls date, there is no date as of yet, but i am optimistic that there will be a date soon. please keep me in your prayers because god knows i need it.

7/08/07 i would just like to tell the OH world that to any and all people that are reading my profile, if you are on this site and reading this page you are either reading because you are interested in getting info on what other people are going thru to get this life saving weight loss surgery or you are just curious. if i had one thing to tell you, i would say if you are serious about doing something like this, i would recommend you go for it with all of your heart, because as for me, i was diagnosed with diabetes at a very late time to the point where my diabetes is really attacking me to the point where if i dont get this surgery sometime before theend of the year, i might not be around next year due to the fact of how aggresive my diabetes is been to my body. i am fighting this fight because as a 33 y/o man, i dont want to die this early and also i dont want to leave this world and to have to take with me knowing the fact that i left my wife behind and possible if i had kids. i want to grow old and have a family and live a happy life, so what i need to ask of each and all of my OH family to please when you goto sleep and please say a prayer to god that i make it, because without my wife and my OH family i dont think i would have the strength to go on. i would like to thank each and everyone on here who took the time to read everything i wrote and also thank you for your love and prayers. 7/09/07 i would like to greet all my friends on here to tell you i am felling alittle better today but my blood sugar wasnt doing to good. my bloodsugar number is usually between 92 and 122, but just alittle while ago it shot up to 165. i never saw it shoot up that high especially when im taking januvia which is a pill for people with diabetes. hopefully in the morning my number will go down to normal. i must saw that i am really proud of myself because i completed and got printed out results for my (ekg,chest x-ray and my and all of my blood work). i would also like to say that my pcp also took it one step further when he also tested for my (hba1c). they will evaluate my diabetes situation to see where that stand and also i had a nerve conduction test and everything you can think of today was completed, but the last 3 things i need to complete are the following (shrink evaluation, nutrition evaluation and last but not the least is the 6 week work out rehab) and the good thing is that i have already done 1 week of the work out rehab so only 5 more weeks to go before my paper work will be submitted to insurance. YAHOO that was enough to even make me smile even though i am in alot of pain. please keep the prayers coming because lords knows i need it. thank you to all and godbless

7/11/07 hello to everyone today. i have some really really good news, i completed the nutrionist requirements, now the only thing left to complete is for me to complete is the SHRINKS evaluation and the workout evaluation. i am so glad that all i have to completed is 2 more items and my papers will be submitted for approval for rny wls. i am so freakin happy for that, but i would be even more happy if they would take this mother freakin picc line out of my body. wish me luck everyone and also good luck to all of you out there whom is struggling like me.

7/12/07 i just completed my second week of rehab therapy and that shit was a workout and a half. i think i over did myself to the point that the rehab place was about to call the ambulance to take me to the hospital. thankfully that my heart rate as well as all my other vitial signs went back to normal. i hope everyone is doing good and i would also like to thank everybody for their love and prayers.

7/16/07 hi OH family, i have some possible bad news. i just came from my 2nd follow up visit with doctor Maher Badri and he told me something i didnt wanna hear. he said that the cellulitus on my leg is not healing to the point where he thinks that the antibiotics they prescribed thru iv drip isnt working almost as if the infection/bacteria is immune to the medicine im currently taking at home. the doctor took a swab of the open sores on my legs and he said that when i goto his office for the results on this thursday 7/19/07 that he will admit me back into the hospital where they will aggresively treat me with heavier antibiotics thru iv, pills and regualr injections. if ever i needed the love and prayers of everyone on here, now is the perfect time for it. i am genuinely a strong minded person because i am somewhat used to going in the hospital, but now that i am married its so hard for me to have my wife see me laying in a hospital bed with all these tubes and machines hanging inside of me. when my wife goes home after seeing me in the hospital, i cry not only because i know what she must be thinking, but also because of the servere pain and humbling experience i go thru. i love you guys for all the love and support you all have gave to me, please when you sleep tonight, dont pray for me, but please turn your prayers to my wife, because my wife has been my biggest support line when most so-called werent even there to even give a simple visit or call to see how i was doing. godbless to all and your families.

7/23/07 i just came from my physical rehab session week 4 of 6 and i must say i feel so freakin great because i know all i have to do is 2 more weeks of rehab and on my last session they will evaluate me and fax a letter to my surgeon dr. ajay goyals office and once that letter is recieved then my paperwork will be submitted for insurance approval and i just can't wait to hear from there doctors office to call me and for them to say congrats "YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED". i just can't wait to hear them say that. well i will keep all posted.

7/29/07 i would just like to give a shout out to each and everyone out there and to all my loyal readers. i would just like to keep you informed of whats going on in my life. tomorrow i will complete week 5 of 6 of my physical therapy and my doctors office told me that if there able to recieve my medical records from the other bariatric surgeon that i fired they will go ahead and submit tomorrow submit my paper to insurance for approval, but if there not able to, i know that approval is right around the corner and with the love of my family and friends on OH, i know that everything will be ok. please keep me in your prayers.... godbless to all and please cross your fingers

8/02/07 hello to all my friends and family on here, as everyone on here knows that when i got my monthly weight taken i had gained 8lbs, which raised my bmi to 59.9 which had my bmi got to be 60.0 than the insurance wouldnt pay for it, but last week my doctor said that i will come into his office every week to get weigh-in so they can catch it if i gain or loose week by week so they can closely watch my progress and since this is my first week by week weigh-in, i have some rather excelent news, since i found out the last week i found out that i gained 8lbs it was a kick in my ass to really work hard, so this week i found out that i lost 18lbs, yes thats right 18lbs. i am so damn happy that i started back on the right path and lost an amazing 18lbs in only one week, but i thought the scale was wrong so i got on and off the scale 4 times and it said the samething all 4 times and im so damn happy. i would like to send a special thank you to my wonderful and beautiful wife for cooking my foods in strick following of the jenny craig book. i would also like to send a thank you to everyone in here for not giving up on me.

8/06/07 hello to all on here. i would like to let everyone know that i have officially completed all the requirements for wls. i just completed physical therapy today, i am glad that i did but im also glad that it showed me what i really can do with alittle bit of knowledge and drive that i can do anything. i havent heard from the surgeons office yet but i sure will get everyone on here posted the moment i get some kind of information.

8/07/07 i just called the surgeons office to see if the other surgeons office had faxed over a copy of my past records so that my present surgeon can combine both records to submit it for insurance approval. but i have a problem because the 1st surgeon is being a big asshole because since i fired his services, i think he is trying to make it difficult, but if i have to go to his office then he is really going to hate me. if i have to go there then the police of that town will really remember me. i will kick his ass and i really mean that. if anyone is reading this please under no circumstances please do not choose dr. franklyn vazquez from barnert hospital in paterson newjersey. this surgeon in my opinion is not really a true caring person, i think he is more into trying to be a wanna be playboy or something to that effect, so dont waste your time in his office, goto dr. ajay goyal, he is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00% better than dr. vazquez. godbless to all who read this.

8/09/07 hi all. i just want you to know that i am going to all my appointments today. i get my weekly weigh-in today to see how much i have lost. i will keep you informed when i get home.

8/09/07 hell to all, i would just like to let everyone know that i have lost 2 whole pounds. i would also like to let everyone that my past wls surgeon office has faxed over a copy of my records to my new surgeons office and the only thing that is left as far as paper work is that my old nutritionist needs to fax over his records to my surgeons office tomorrow so that they can submit my papers for wls approval which if everything goes well they will submit everything tomorrow or at the latest by first thing monday morning. please keep your fingers crossed because i need to have all the prayers of everyone on here because i believe that the love and prayers of loved ones and of friends will be good for approval.

8/10/07 hello to all, i would like to just give an update on my papers. as you all know that my new surgeon has all of my paper work with the exception of the nutriontion records for the month of april. i was by the bariatric co-ordinator that she will contact him on this friday 8/10/07 to see if the nutritionist will fax over all of his records so that first thing monday morning 8/13/07 she will submit my papers to insurance for approval. she also said that if she is not able to get the records on friday the 10th then when shae does recieve them on monday she will then triple check to insure that all papers are in order and then she will submit the paper work. please pray for me as this is the time i need it the most.

8/13/07 i have a bit somewhat of good news. i recieved a call from my surgeons office today to tel me that not only do they have all my medical documents in their office but that as i was talking to them, that they were faxing the papers to bc/bs of nj and that i could expect an answer in 2 weeks or less. can you guess im praying for less, maybe an answer for by friday. lol. keep me in your prayers.

8/15/07 just alittle reminder, im still waiting for bc/bs to make up their freakin mind.. lol

8/16/07 i would just like to tell everyone that i got a call from the surgeons office today to come into the office and when i went there for the weigh-in, not only did i lost 3lbs, but i also was given a celebratory sign when i walked thru the door telling me i was APPROVED for surgery. my surgery date is September 10. i dont know the time yet, but i will find out when i go in on the 30th of this month to sign a sign a form of consent to allow them to install a filter in my legs and also to do the surgery, they said i need to bring a family member so i decided to bring my wife. im so freaking happy everyone.

06/03/09 i can't believe that it is almost two whole years since i last wrote in my journal and also since i had bypass surgery, but i tell you that my life has changed in so many ways. i am alive today because of a very important decision i made nearly two years ago and im glad i made that decision. if your confused on if you should or shouldnt get the surgery, my advice to you is, DO IT NOW. your life may depend on it. and if you ever need a friend for anything, feel free to call on me at any time of the day or night. AND I MEAN IT.

03/12/09 i went to my rny bypass dr for a check up and to discuss skin removal, im doing good health wise. the doctor will start my papers for skin removal tomorrow.

03/13/09 my doctor start the papers for skin removal, i hope i get approved

05/06/09 i just got my first letter from the insurrance company refusing to pay for my surgery. i faxed this letter to my doctor office and they said they are gonna appeal it right away. wish me luck on my first appeal.
