Things are creeping along slowly. 4 more pounds this month. Each pound seems to make a bigger difference now though. Every 10 pounds is a new size smaller. We moved out of our house and bought another one. We've been living in a hotel for 2 weeks while they've been doing things to it. My doctor had said I would definitely make it to 175 and I can see that happening now.

I completely stalled this month until this past week when I lost 3 pounds. What was different? I added more protein and changed up my exercise to something more intense finally. Onward!

This has been an interesting month for me. I only lost 5 pounds this month for starters. This is the first month I've had where the weight didn't practically fall off me. I started back to school and have definitely been sittting more and am not exersizing everyday like I was - maybe 3 or 4 nights a week. I've been lax about journaling which I think is what helps me the most and I've been eating carbs. Ugh. All this makes me realize just how fast I can really fall right back into old habits.

I had a deal with myself that no matter what was going on with school, test the next day or whatever, that I would never skip more than one day of exersize. I'm a little upset with myself, but ready for get back to what I was doing.

I'm going to try using my "Beck" skills, plan and write down my food for tomorrow before I go to bed tonight and when will be walking tomorrow evening.

Onderland - 5 months

Jan 11, 2012

It's been 5 months today since my surgery and I've lost 106 pounds total with the pre-op loss and 76 since surgery. I am sitting right at 199 lbs. as of this morning. I was worried how this month would go being December, but it ended up being ok. In December, I'd stopped writing down everything I ate and stopped measuring, but have now been at it again for a couple of weeks. We went on a cruise for New Years and I didn't gain weight which is so strange for me.

I start school again next week after having the semester off. I'm a bit worried about the stress and how I'll deal with it. Eating - especially at night has always been my downfall.

I'm still at about 600-650 cals per day and walk for an hour every evening. I have a shake when I get back from the walk. I catch my husband staring at me which is nice of course. SO grateful to have made it out of the 200's : )

Today it's been 4 months since my surgery. I lost another 14 pounds this month to make 94 pounds total and 64 since surgery.

Thanksgiving was the first time we'd seen my husbands family since this summer and they could not stop talking about my weight. It was strange because here where we live, no one ever mentions it, which I like. I enjoy not thinking about it much and just moving on with my life.

As far as my goals, I am hoping to get to 200 by the end of the year. I know this is a big goal for the last 3 weeks for December with all the celebrating, but I'm hoping that I can repeat the success I had at Thanksgiving where I lost weight that week. We are going on a cruise for New Years eve with our kids for 4 days. I'm already starting to work on a plan the stay on track and thinking about what I'll bring with me for snacks etc.

I had a binging episode this month that was about 400 calories that I can't figure out where it came from. It always seems to happen about once a month, so maybe it's a period type of thing. I wrote it down this time and we'll see if I can find a pattern.

I had to stop takiing Actigall because it was causing depression for me. I couldn't find any official report of this being a side effect except in dogs, but after stopping it for 3 days I felt like a different person. Strange that it would do that. I know it's a risk to stop taking it, but I couldn't function anymore on it.

I put up some 3 month pictures, but I'll do a 4 month pic shortly.

It's nice to just be obese - I finally got my BMI under 40. : ) It's been an interesting month. I had my first week where I didn't lose anything. I upped my walking to an hour every night instead of just 45 minutes and started some fun little dancing videos with my kids just for fun - the girls love that I'm doing something with them and I'm working out at the same time.

During that week where I didn't lose I got to see how all those people feel when they stall and freak out about how the surgery didn't work - NOW I understand - poor husband became my therapist that week.

My doctors goal for me was a 60-70 pound loss by 3 months out and I've only made 50 since surgery. I feel hopeful that I will get there though and keep plugging away at it. I'm tired alot and feel like I've got some kind of deficiency going on - maybe iron or B12. Will address this with the doctor soon.

This will be my last weekly blog - I'll go monthly from now on. I'm down another 4 lbs. this week. I'm worried about not losing quickly enough, that I will run out of time. I started exersizing with weights here and there in addition to my walking every night. Hopefully, sometime this month I'll add in a stationery bike. Still very glad I did this and hoping that things continue to go as well as they have been.

Really surprised by how difficult it is to get myself to drink water. I've been getting headaches and can tell I'm still dehydrated. I am down another 4 pounds this week and had my first time where I really just wanted to keep eating.  I'd been helping my daughter with her math homework and I was as frustrated as she was. At dinner, I felt like I was going to overeat and the sleeve still let me know when it was time to stop. Now I just have to remember what that felt like.

Only 3 more pounds this week, which was kinda disappointing. My total is 28 since surgery. I've started walking for 45 minutes every night around our neighborhood which is very hilly. It's like having a built-in stairmaster. I'm enjoying it, but have to be careful with my knee.

I tend to eat the same foods over and over again because it just makes it easier for me. But then again, I've always done this.  I log everything in a little notebook instead of using a website. I like the idea of having it all written out somewhere where I can see it all at once. Besides, I spend enough time on the computer.

My kids have noticed the weight loss and were very sweet. My youngest remarked that I don't wear black all the time now.
