I am almost one year post op from the lapband surgery and have lost 127 pounds.  Yay!!  However, I have developed an infection at my port site and have to have the port removed next week and replaced in three weeks.  Which means no fill through Thanksgiving!!!  I will have to rely on willpower alone.  Lord help me!!  Have felt better this year since the weight loss and have even started dating.  Never thought that would happen again.  So a little set back but is fixable so spirits aren't too bad at present. 

It has been three months and I have officially lost 77 lbs as of today.  Of course, 29 lbs of that was lost preop but it has stayed off and I am ecstatic.  I feel so much better and more energetic.  My blood glucose is almost normal without medication and my blood pressure is normal without any medication.  I still have a way to go but this is the first time that I have lost this much weight without having my father or my grandmother 'cracking the whip' so I am very proud of myself.  The weight loss has slowed down considerably but is still coming off.  I now need to get more exercise and hopefully the weight will keep coming off.  Here's hoping so!!!

I was on the preop diet for four weeks due to the fact that my liver was too big and soft the first surgical attempt was not finished.  I lost 17 pounds that two weeks.  The second surgery was a success, I lost 12 pounds those two weeks for a total of 29 pounds.  I finally got my scale that can weigh me--I'm over 400 pounds!!  I have lost another 16 pounds since my surgery date of 12/21/06!!  Maybe all of this is worth it after all!!  I have my first fill date on 1/18/07!!
