So I got a call from my surgeons office this evening telling me that my surgery is no longer covered under my policy because my employer has change the contract effective June 1 2009. I'm thinking to my self my employer has not informed anyone that our policy was changing. Further more I got my insurance approval June 8, 2009 so if the change was effective June 1 how did I get approved June 8. For now surgery is delayed. I am not saying cancelled because I will be having my surgery with my insurance company paying for it.

I can't believe that my time has finally come... I have all my pre-op testing done on 06-25-09. I am nervous and excited all at once. The reality of this being major surgery is finally setting and I can't imagine my son or my husband not having me in their lives. I know that this having this surgery is the right decision, but I can't wait until I am post op and doing wonderful.

Reasons to have weight loss surgery!

1-Be healthy-no longer get sick all the time and worry about dying.
2-Be able to go for a walk(more then 5 mins)
3-Be able to run
4-Be able to walk up stairs without my heart racing and running out of breath
5-Not feel that I am being stared at all the time
6-Not worry that I wont fit somewhere (plane, chairs, turnstiles, booths)
7-Not be jealous of skinny ppl anymore
8- Shower with my husband
9- Have my husband carry me
10- Be able to cross my legs
11-Be able to keep up with my son
12-Buy "normal" clothes
13-never go into a plus size store again!
14-Not have aching feet, back and legs all the time
15-Wear a bathing suit without fear
16-Wear a skirt without shorts underneath
17-Wear pantyhose without having a rash on my thighs
20-To be able to wrap a towel around myself
21-To be able to join in games like vollyball, basketball, ect
22-Go dancing without worrying whos staring at me
23-Not worry about breaking things.
24-Eat in a restarant without wondering if im being judged
25-have ppl not recognize me!

Today I had my psych. eval today and it went great. It was not as bad as I have heard some evals go, no long exam, in and out in 30 minutes. My surgery date is June 29, 2009. yeah!!!!!!!

So my insurance does not require a psy exam, but my surgeon does so I have that scheduled for this Thursday and then I will be able to get my surgery date. I can't believe that this is really about to happen. I am so excited, I know that this is not going to be easy, but it is going to be so worth it.Hopefully now I will be able to get a good nights rest

I'M APPROVED!!!!!! SHE SUBMITTED IT THIS MORNING AND SHE CALLED ME AT LUNCH!!!!

Hello everyone so I just want to give a brief update. Today I found out that I don't have to wait until august to submit to BCBSAl for approval!!! My final weigh in is Monday and then Beverly will be able to sumbit. I am so excited.....It seems like time been standing still. Know I have to worry about getting approved !!

Here's an update. On March 19,2009. My husband and I made the 1 1/2 hour drive to Anniston to attend a WLS seminar with Dr. Freeman. The staff was awesome they were really informative and really loved their job. We did not get a chance to meet with Dr. Freeman, but we was able to meet with his PA. Before attending the meeting I was leaning toward the band, but quickly realized that it was not for me. It will be Aug 1 before I can send my info in to the insurance company so until then I will work on the dreaded 6 month diet. I am so excited......
