" I met with Dr. Flancbaum's staff at his office at St. Luke's- Roosevelt, in May. I didn't really get much opportunity to form an opinion of Dr. Flancbaum, as he was suffering from laryngitis that day. I've had only one office consult as yet. I was impressed with his office staff. I met extensively with his nurse, Vikki Drake, who i really liked.I also met with one of the nutritionists, Toni, I believe. They gave me quite a bit of information and i felt it was a true consultation, sans actual doc. Quite different from my meeting with Dr. Garber( that meeting was in a tiny room with average size armchairs, a setting quite innapropriate for bariatric patients). I also met, at a later date, with the social worker(?), Doreen Corrado, for my psych consult. I liked her a lot too. I don't feel comfy rating the doc at this point, but if i did, it would be a pretty good rating. :) 1/5/03
It's funny how things happen, i went through delays scheduling surgery because i had to go for counseling(due to a prior history of bulemia), then my gp sorta' delayed me by a month by not faxing over my medical history in a timely fashion. Then my psychologist was unsure of what they meant by summary of treatment. Finally all of that was submitted and i thought i was going to be scheduled for surgery..... i called up and was told that all medicaid patients were on hold indefinately. I was totally freaked when i heard that.THEN...... less than two weeks later i was given a surgery date for the following week! AND NOW IT'S TWO DAYS AWAY!!!! "
