Right now, I am in the preliminary stages to get approval.
Well I was able to get the preliminary appointment with Dr. Sufficool. I go in on June 5th for the initial consult. I had my Psych Eval done and my nutrition class done. In one way I feel like this is going so slow yet another I really start thinking that I could get this surgery before my desired date. I was thinking late September would be great time (less busy) to do this surgery, it even gives me enough time to acclamate to my new lifestyle before the holidays.

I had my appointment today. Very interesting man, Dr. Sufficool. He told me everything that he could think of that could go wrong, and then some warnings that he may have missed something. I think he was trying to use it as a deterant or get me to reconsider. It was very informative but I did get my next appointment with the internal medicine doctor on July 17. Can not wait for this appointment. This whole process has a great resemblance to the hurry up and wait process.
When I was weighed today I realized that I have gained another 10 pounds from the last time I checked. I am now my highest I have ever been.
This is what my Virtual Model says I would look like at goal weight. Can't wait to see the results.

Well, I had my appointment with the Doctor today to set my surgery date. In my opinion, a little bit of a waste of time. Another round of " Do you have any questions, concerns, issues, etc. etc. " the after it was all said and done, I was unable to set the date because the nurse waited till the last minute then got to busy to get preapproval (she forgot about me). This is not rocket science, we are a smaller town and the insurance administrator is local (same zip code local / walking distance from the doctors office local). All she had to do is pick up the phone and say "Hey (insert name) how is Bill's preapproval coming along, all good, preapproved, great. Thank you." I know because I was told by the insurance administrator that I was good to go and just waiting on the call from the doctors office.
I was able to convince the nurse to "pencil me in" for the 26 of September.

Got the call from the insurance company Case Manager about 9:45 am that I have been approved. I then got the call from the scheduling nurse at 12 noon that I was approved and my date is set.
Going to Denver next week. Last vacation before the surgery. Should be good times visiting family and friends.

Starting my pre-op diet tomarrow. I can't believe that it is going to really happen in like 24 days. I thought that it would ever get here. Now I feel that there is so much to do. Now I know what my wife felt like "nesting" before the children were born. I have a honey dew list a mile long and I find myself adding things to it.

Had my surgery today, Doctor said it all look good and was an easy procedure.

I got sick today, had a stomach virus that caused me to vomit and split open my incision, went to the ER to stop the vomiting and found out that I need emerency surgery to repair the damage to the incision site and bowels. Original surgery was not hurt at all. Thank God. Surgery lasted 45 minutes but recovery is going to be a bear.
Oct. 16, 2006 (3 weeks out)
Got on the scale today and noticed that I lost a total of 50 pounds. 10 pounds before surgery and 40 pounds in the last 3 weeks New weight 298.
