Kahdi Udobi

"My first impression of Dr. Udobi was that he was essentially a very caring doctor, what one would expect of a surgeon. rnRegarding Dr. Udobi's office staff, my opinion is that they are actually on top of things, although due to the load I'm sure they have. Dr. Udobi's secretary, can be very short when on the phone, but then, it is my understanding she also works with other doctors and I'm sure she has more than enough to take care of. Of course, to amplify my prior comment, this is my opinion. I am certain I was a pain in her rump at times as well. At my first consult, July 17, the doctor gave me a book that apparently he compiled and is super informative. Soon after the initial consultation, I received word that TriCare had approved of the inpatient surgery for November 2006. All prerequisites were finished the first week in October, to enclude the stress test, and esophagus polyps were removed, and three biopsies were done. All tests came back fine. I am currently scheduled for open RNY November 20, 2006. November 14, prior to surgery, I am scheduled for more pre ops. Soon I will have the surgery and another step further into weight loss. I am prayerfully thankful I selected Dr. Udobi, who is also a Trauma Doc. rnFor me, personally, Surgical competence is of utmost importance. Dr. Udobi went over risks involved, which was reiterated in the book he hands out. Still, it is crucially important to me to have the surgery. I am now 57 y/o and the momma of a 13 year old, and two grown sons and a grandma. I want to be able to actually enjoy my family totally without being out of air, I'm asthmatic, by simply walking into another room or feel as if I might have a heart attack by walking more than 50 feet. I have already had one total hip replacement and not looking forward to the possibility of having a second one due to weight acerbating the situation, high cholestrol, lupus, rheumatoid, and sleep apnea, and fibromyalia. For me, surgical competence is critically important. All aspects of surgery and after care is in the book and also, Dr. Udobi went over after care as well verbally. I am sure on my next appointment, November 14, I will learn even more from Dr. Udobi. So far, I have absolutely nothing to say negatively about Dr. Udobi. I do plan on updating once surgery is over and I'm home. At this point, I would refer Dr. Udobi to anyone asking for the name of a Bariatric Surgeon. rnPS, about 4 days after being discharged from KU Med, I was admitted to Lees Summit hospital for pneumonia. To show Dr. Udobi a common curtesy, my son called to let him know I was being admitted and the reason why. Gail was on the phone and sad to my son, and I do Quote, when he said I was going back into the hospital....\"and what do you want me to do about it?\" Well, he said he was calling only as a curtsey as Dr. Udobi is my surgeon, and hung up. I think I might want to take back any sorta nice thing I might have earlier said about Dr. Udobi's secretary. rnMy surgery was Nov 20, 2006. rn~A BIT OF AN UPDATE~ I am down from a size 20-22 W to a 16w that is big on me. Yay!rnWhen you do have the surgery, be sure to walk the laps and do all you can to have bm's. Very serious here. rn"
