Today is Nov.2nd 2002 I have finally past the 200 mark I now weigh 175. I have just been approved for hernia surgery and a tummy tuck, removal of the hernia ought to take off 10 lbs. IT IS HUGE! My surgery date is Dec.3rd 2002 I will be at St. Mary's Hospital. If anyone has had a hernia and a tummy tuck done please contact me. I want to know what to expect. To all who are getting ready for surgery I wish you the best. I live alone and managed to take care of myself just fine.

5/14/02 Congratulations!!Linda on your 1 year anniversary. I hope you will post us how you are doing, we look forward to hearing your update. I just had my done 5/1 and can always use the inspiration.

Today is Sept. 8th 2001, I now weigh 229 I am losing more slowly than I expected but my thyroid is very low and my doctor has increased my medication which will boost my metabolism and burn more calories. Right now I walk 1-2 miles a day and watch what I eat. I suppose losing slow is good in many ways because your chances of keeping it off are better. I will be very excited the day I get below 200! Then I will only have 5o more pounds to go! But I need to practice patience and take one day at a time. Good luck to all my fellow loosers.

Now I am officially 2 weeks post op and have lost 14 pounds in 14 days. The truth is the first 3-5 days are pretty tough but after that you'll be amazed at the fact you have very little pain and you are getting about pretty good. I even went to Walmart at 1 week post op! The walking is good for you and I needed some more skim milk. It was good to get out of the house. I have been on 2 or 3 more outings since that first one and each time I come home tired but it is a good kind of tired because you have been doing something fun. I look forward to building my endurance to excercise with my Denise Austin & Richard Simmons video tapes. I have just about forgotten the pain and how rough the first 3-5 days were and I just look forward to losing lots of weight and getting in shape.

Congratulations Linda! I am so happy for you. I hope you are doing well and are home soon. Just to let you know, I got my notice today...my surgery is approved! I call Hilarie Monday to schedule my surgery. I look forward to hearing about your trip to the other side to help me with my soon-to-be scheduled "trip".

Angel checking in...Linda had surgery on Monday morning. I spoke with her Monday night and she sounded very strong. I went to visit with her Tuesday night and she looked terrific. She is on clear liquids and tolerating them well. She should be going home Thursday. All of our thoughts and prayers appear to have been heard and she is doing great.
