It has been 9 months since I had my surgery. I am at 215 and I am still lossing, would like to get to my goal of 175. My wife and I went to Chile in December and I noticed that I could walk all over and not get tired. I need to start weight lifting to tone up and frim my mucsles. I am just alttle leary to do much like karate. I asked Dr. Syn that I would like to do that he said fine go ahead, but I might get a hernia. He said get the hernia now doing the karate activity or get it later doing nothing. So, I am not wanting to do anything to bring on the hernia. Right now my stomach looks flat and nice and I really do not want to have a hernia repair job. If someon has some information about this I would like to know more.

How I feel today 9-18-09
Sep 18, 2009
I had my surgey on July 20 at Lubbock Texas my surgeon was Dr. Syn. I can say that the 1st week after surgery you do not want to laugh at anything funny and getting up and down can hurt. If you have a stomach support waist band is worth it weight in gold. I wore the support band for about 3 weeks. i stayed in my Lazy Boy recliner and even sleep there for about 2 weeks. I can say after 8 weeks since my sugery and can now laugh and getting up and down is not painful. I have a hard time trying to eat all the protein and drink the 64 oz. of water daily. I have lost around 45 pounds since my surgery. The weight is slow but steady , I do not miss eating because I now enjoy what I eat more. I have not had any problems like getting sick or dumping I have been lucky in this regard. My pants are hanging loss on me and have to use a belt.
