"Dr. Baker's group offers, by far the best, most comprehensive post-op care/support in the Twin Cities Area. I know of several people who have gone elsewhere, who after surgery felt as if they were completely on their own. I have never felt that way with the doctors and staff at Unity Hospital Bariatric Center. They walk you through every step of the process from pre-op weight loss and psych visits, to insurance approval and support groups, as well as yearly follow up visits. The only issue I had was a mix up with my IV fluid in the hospital. I was diabetic and they had me on a glucose drip when it should have been straight saline. It only meant I had to be on insulin in the hospital, but I went home off all my diabetes meds. Dr. Daniel Baker has been doing Gastric Bypass for almost 20 years, and my procedure took less than 2 hours. I was out of the hospital and back home in just two days, with Dr. Baker's pager number in my pocket. I never had to use it and felt awesome within two weeks. I would recommend anyone in the MPLS/St.Paul area looking into Bariatric Surgery to start at Unity Hospital in Fridley."
