Retiredbertie
I, too, have been overweight all my life. I've tried all kinds of diets but nothing worked in the long run. Despite the wrestling with my weight, I always managed to do what I wanted - physically and was relatively active. However now that I am in my 50's and I have continued to gain weight, that has changed. I simply can't walk any distances and I have no energy at all. I have taken a couple of wonderful vacations since I retired 2 years ago but, my weight really restricted my enjoyment. I have high blood pressure and have developed diabetes.
I want to live long enough to enjoy my 2 year old granddaughter growing up!
After a false positive cardiac stress test last summer, with a resulting heart catherization that showed my heart was fine, I decided to take my cardiologists advice and investigate WLS while I still had a choice. I have chosen Dr. J.K. Champion in Marietta, GA to do my surgery February 27.
