"Although Dr. McGuire did my emergency gall bladder surgery, and he did it very well with no complications, I felt more comfortable going with Dr. Teel (same practice) for my bypass. Dr. Teel's training was primarily in lap surgery, and he is more inclined to stick with lap where McGuire tends to go to open surgery faster (or so they say). Both surgeons have a good track record and work with a team that provides excellent pre and post-op care to their patients. I was very impressed with their willingness to get into technical details of the surgery with me. They never spoke down to me.rnrnPost-op, Dr. Teel was very cautious, which I appreciated. They found a small leak in my new stomach, and though getting through the process of having the repair was very hard, they caught it when others may not have, and I am very grateful for that! I'm healing very well, and was back to work within two weeks.rnrnAnd, I need to add, the nurses and PCTs at MVH are the best, ever. Shout-outs to Stephanie, Valerie, Jillian and the Jennifers. They got me through so much with such gentle care and willing smiles!"
