I called Dr. Olsen's office yesterday for my 3 month blood test results and they are all normal, except the sodium.  Sodium is 130 and should be 135.  But she said this is nothing to worry about.  She also said to keep up what I am doing.

I am also 3 months and 3 weeks out and have lost 61 pounds.  Yippee!!!

I went for my 3 month check-up with Dr. Olsen today.  I lost 12 lbs. this last month and I am at 49% loss of my intended weight loss.  I also had a CT Scan and bloodwork done.  I have had middle left back (left back rib area) pain since  the end of December and Dr. Olsen wanted to make sure there were no adhesions nor any leaks from the surgery.  My CT scan was clean - no bad stuff at all.  But, he pressed on my back and both my ribs and I about went through the roof.  He said this is probably costachondritis.  (Costochondritis is an inflammation of a rib or the cartilage connecting a rib.)  He prescribed Celebrex.  It will probably take about a month or two for it to start feeling better.  The bloodwork will be back at the end of next week.  So will know results of that later.

I measured yesterday  and since the day before my surgery (11/26/06)  I've lost 45 1/4 inches.  It's awesome.

Body Part                  Inches Lost

Rt. Arm                                3"
Left Arm                           2 3/4"
Breasts                            8 1/2"
Rt. Thigh                             3"
Lft. Thigh                             5"
Waist                               11 1/2"
Hips                                      9"
Left Calf                                1"
Rt. Calf                              1 1/2"
Neck                              Just started measuring

I am kinda bummed though.  I keep retaining water like every other day and my weight goes up and down about 3 pounds.  I know it will go away, but it gets frustrating at times.

On another positive note, I pulled my size 14 clothes out of storage and I can wear some of them.  Not all styles yet, but it is very encouraging to be able to wear 14's.

2 positives outweigh the 1 negative, so I'm doing good.  :o)

Yesterday was my 3 month anniversary and I am 55 lbs. lighter.  Yipee!!!  I also made onederland this  month.  I'm also wearing a size 16, down from a 22/24.  I can also wear some "larger" shirts, down from a "xxl".  I can't believe it.  Now I have 63 pounds to go.

It's been 2 1/2 months since my surgery.  I went and saw  Dr. Olsen today.  I've lost a total of 44 lbs., 38% of my body weight (I think that's how he said it.) and he said I'm right on target.  I was a little frustrated because I've only lost 10 lbs. in the last month, but I have to remember that in the normal world (without surgery), I'm doing great, and Dr. Olsen said that everyone has plateaus.  I'm excited though because now I'm below 200 lbs.  My next goal is 175 lbs., but I don't know when to set it for yet.  Still have to think on that one.

Today I went and saw Dr. Olsen.  I have lost 34 lbs (I'm 6 wks out).  I'm so excited, I'm following everything in the book, except exercising.  Although, we just joined the gym, so I'll be going to the gym to exercise now.

I'm having a problem with constipation.  I now have to take 1 tbsp. of Milk of Magnesia 2 times a day, and drink between 120 - 140 oz. water per day also.

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

One of my goals is to walk more often.  I'm having a problem getting enough gumption (if that's a word) to get out there and walk.  I know I'd lose faster if I would walk.  So please pray for me on this goal.

So far, with a little over a month after surgery, I've lost 27 pounds.  I know it's good, but I wish I could have lost more like some people.

I'm also having a problem with constipation.  I've tried Dulcolax, Fleet Enema, and Milk of Magnesia.  They only help a little the day of or the day after I take one of these.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I talk with the doctor on Friday the 5th, maybe he will let me know what to do.  I had a constipation problem before I had the surgery and doc told me to quit taking my Miralax and said if I drink enough water that I will go.  I drink about 90 oz. a day and he wants me to drink over 100 oz.  Please help if you can.

Dec 15, 2006

Well, I had a first bad day of blended foods.  I got sick three times and was miserably uncomfortable yesterday.  I called the doctor's office and told them what happened and they said it might be that my body is not ready for real food yet and I might have to stay on liquids a couple more days and try again, or it might be that I didn't blend my foods enough.  I'm waiting on a call back from them to let me know what they want me to do.  I'm still uncomfortable.

All I had was scrambled eggs, tuna fish, and ground chicken.  Did anyone have any similar happenings on their first day?

P.S.  Spoke with Dr.'s office.  They said I might have ate too much too soon.  To take a couple more days on liquids and then try again. :)
