11 Weeks Post Op

Aug 02, 2007

Well, I am 11 weeks post op now and feel better then I have in years if not ever. I started to go to the gym 3 weeks ago and love going, that is a first for me. I have lost a total of 82 pounds as of this morning. I feel like I am not eating enough and think I may be losing weight too fast. I go for my 3 month check up in a few weeks, hopefully my blood work is good and my doctor doesn't tell me I am losing weight too fast or unhealthily. I have been going to a Bypass support group which is proving very helpful. That is it for now, I will check in after my 3 month check. later

2 Week Post Op Dr Appt

May 29, 2007

Well, I had my 2 week post op appt today and I am down 31 lbs from my pre op weight of 364. I am now a svelt 333. My dr was amazed at how much I lost and told me to keep it up and I would be to my goal in no time. I was able to return to work without limitations today as well, thank god for that. I can really feel the difference in my body already. I have been very experimental in my food choices and have not found anything that disagrees yet. (knock on wood) Anyway, that is the story so far, I will write more at the next milestone. later.

2 Days post op.

May 18, 2007

All I have to say is Ouch. There was a problem with my IV the first night in the hospital so I was getting no Morphine and then they switched to Percocet and I hardly got any.  Other then the pain med problems the whole experience was quite pleasant. The nurses put up with alot becuase of my pian and they were very helpful for the most part. I was okayed for full liquids today, I just drank my first Protein Shake.

There were no complications with the surgery so far, knock on wood. The gas from the surgery is the most painful part of the whole experience. Whenever I walk around I feel the gas move around and up into my chest and I know as soon as I lay down it is gonna hurt.  Knowing the pain I am in I would do it all over again, knowing the benefits I am gonna reap from this surgery soon enough. Well, I am goin to bed, I am beat. I will post more soon.

one week to go

May 08, 2007

Well, I am 7 days away from my surgery and have no nerves about it at all. I have looked into RNY so much in the last 6 months and I have even seen a video of an actual surgery, so I know exactly what I am getting into. I almost wish I was nervous, I would feel more normal. I had my last surgical consult yesterday and everything is a go. I go for my Pre Admission testing on Friday. That is it for now, I will write more on Friday after the preadmit.
