First and fore most I, have to say that I chose the “Best Doctor” in Houston “Dr. Garth Davis” to do my Lap Band surgery. As you all know this was my second time to be in the OR holding room was on August 16th, first time I was sent home do to bronchitis, my second time August 25th, I opted not to have the surgery. The reason for this is, recently I became a Foster Parent to a lovely sixteen-year-old girl, and she is a wonderful, delightful young person that has had an extremely hard life. She has become as my daughter and is also loved by my grown children. As I lay there waiting my turn in OR all sorts of things came into my mind, what if something went wrong, what if I had to miss work due to complications, what would happen to Jessica would she be returned to a system like that of a puppy mill? With those thoughts I could not take the chance, I ask to speak with my daughter Liz, she was happy with my decision, and I then told my doctor. Dr. Davis is such a kind and understanding person, he did not know the reason for my decision other than I had changed my mind; I admire this man greatly as he made me feel special and that he would be there for me if needed. This morning Jessica and I joined LA Fitness, and we attended our first water aerobics class, I had problems with my right ankle and they were gracious enough to allow me in the future to wear high top Reeboks along with an ACE bandage when doing the water aerobics. We have started a diet and set goals on the amount of weight that we need to lose on a month-to-month basics. I pray I have made the right decision and I am trusting in the Lord to guide and direct me. I want to thank all of you wonderful people who have reached out to me with all of your well wishes and support, May God Bless you all for your Love and Caring. Huggers, Sandy F
