Almost six months ago I had the lap RNY surgery. As of today, I have lost 82 lbs. I weighed at my heaviest 257 lbs pre op. On the day of surgery, I weighed 247 lbs. My BMI was not high enough to qualify for the WLS. It was due to co-morbidities of sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension, and PCOS, that qualified me for the surgery.
This was my first surgery ever. I felt nervous, scared, but also excited at the same time. Recovery was not easy for me, however, I have no regrets. Its amazing how this surgery has added years to me living a healthy life. I must say it is far from being the easy way out. It's hard work-physically and mentally. I would like to lose another 45 lbs to meet my personal goal. Then, I hope to be able to maintain the weight.
I thank you for OH. I have not only met some really great people here, but the support, honesty, and their openess has helped me stay on track.
Thanks again (Mahalo Nui Loa)!!
