Lap Band Day..

May 12, 2009

Well here we go, I've now had surgery today at 7:15 am and I'm currently in my room and looking out the window.
I'm going to support group tonight, let me repeat that (I'm going to support group tonight). My Angel has instilled in me the great importance of this and so I want others to know that I'm standing here answering your questions. And yes I was on the operating table 12 hours ago.

My Surgeon Dr. Teel has been great; I haven't had to bother him with too many questions thanks to my Lap Band Angel.
Notes to all get a good Angel, I met mine at a support group, need I say more on the importance of group?

Ok to answer FAQs
I’m not hungry.

Pain was minimal, more gas pains that anything else and by this I mean you wish you could burp but cannot.

I slept a lot of the day away, unsure if this was because of never being put under before or not.

Staying overnight here in the hospital just to be sure I’m doing fine.
I was told I was given a large band with a low profile port, at this time I am unclear of was that really means. To my knowledge no fluid was place in the band at time of surgery. I hope this all helps someone else remember to just stay focused and keep moving forward.   Without Wax, Lee
