On June 26, 2001 I had a RNY GAstric Bypass performed by Dr. Schirmer. At the time of surgery, my weight was 321#. One year later my weight deceased to 180#. My life dramatically changed with this weight decrease. Over the next 2 years I was able to maintain this weight. In December, 2005 I under went surgery for a bowel obstruction. My weight decreased by 12# to 168#. As I healed from surgery, my appetite increased, and over the next1 1/2 years I increased my weight to 208. In August, 2007 at my annual visit with Dr. Schirmer,I weighed in at 208#. I found out that I have a hernia at the incisional site. With hernia repair I am a candidate for a TT. Dr. Schirmer advised me to loose 10# prior to surgery.
December 7, 2007 Met with Dr. Drake for a consultation to have a TT with hernia repair. A letter and pictures were sent to insurance for authorization.
January 19, 2008. Still awaiting to hear from insurance for authorization for TT. Meanwhile, I am loosing weight as I returned to back to basics eating. For one week I lived on a liquid diet. Lost 1 1/2lbs. For the second week I lived on liquids, fruit, veggies. Will weigh myself on Sunday, January 20th.
On April 3, 2008 I had a hernia repair, performed by Dr. Schirmer. The surgery went well and I have healed well. At my follow-up with Dr. Schirmer, my weight decreased from 211 to 196. I was so excited and motivated by this weight loss. In May, 2008 I was weighed at Dr. Lupold's office(PCP), and the weight loss was revealed!!! In June, 2008 I weighed in at 201.5lbs.
Now my goal is to loose 10# by October...annual physical.
