I'm Five Years Post-Op Now and enjoying life. I never did lose the 35 pounds I gained three years ago with my last baby. I've tried multiple diets with not much success. I'm currently a size 16 and I would just like to get back to a size 12 and stay there. I feel great, but I'm unhappy with the extra weight. I'm also hypoglycemic now. I can't do lactose either so It's hard to do alot of protein when you can't eat dairy. Altogether though I'm healthy and I still look much better than I did five years ago. I'll continue to try and lose the baby weight to get back to my goal. Thanks for listening.

Today is my 3rd year anniversary of the date of my surgery. So much has happened over the past 3 years. My life has completely changed. Not only did I lose 112 lbs, but I had two pregnancies and a healthy baby girl who will be one year old on Sept. 12th. I'm still working on getting the last of my weight off but the baby was well worth it. I find now that I'm 3 years out that I really have to work to lose weight, I can eat however I want and not gain weight but to lose takes effort. I'm going to the gym again doing water aerobics and I'm watching my diet. I do find that I can eat much more food now and that doesn't help me when I'm trying to diet. However, I would never have been able to get to this point without my surgery. I'm currently 178 lbs and in a size 14/16. I would like to get into the 150's again and wear a size 12 comfortably, preferably before my baby's 1st birthday! I think I'll make it. I'm so grateful for this website for allowing me the opportunity to learn about how I could get my surgery with Blue Shield HMO. I've had a truly blessed life this past 3 years! I would do it again in a heartbeat! Best Wishes SJ.

Hi All: I'm now 21 months post-op and five months pregnant. I lost a total of 112 lbs before I became pregnant and was wearing a size 12 comfortably. I am currently wearing maternity clothes and uncomfortable gaining weight, but trying to be sensible about it. I can see that I'm getting a little flabby in my thighs and my face seems to be looking fuller, but now is not the time to be worrying about it. I've made several great friends since my surgery and I am happy to feel that I had some influence on them now too having the surgery. I feel that I am blessed to be able to share my weight loss story with others who are now benefiting from the surgery themselves. I only hope that everyone who is obese will have the opportunity to choose the surgery should they wish. Good luck to all you out there and I'll keep you updated as my pregnancy progresses and then my weight loss begins again.

Hi All: I'm now 15 months and down 107 lbs. I just started losing weight again since I got pregnant in May and then delivered my baby premature in September. In the 4 1/2 months of my pregnancy I only gained 6 pounds and I wasn't watching my diet at all. So I feel good that I wasn't gaining too much weight. After I had the baby I actually weighed two pounds less than when I got pregnant. I'm trying to work off my last 30 lbs now before we start trying again for another baby at the end of this year. I have to be careful though, too much weight gain or loss affects your hormones and can keep me from getting pregnant right away. By the way, since I had the baby and my hormone levels have dropped, I've started losing my hair again just like after my surgery. I lost about 50% of my hair by last April and I was just starting to have my new hairs lay down because they were getting longer. Now I'm losing chunks again every morning and finding my hair all over my clothes again.. Bummer. I'm trying the Biotin vitamins to see if they can help this time. I'm back in my size 14 clothes and actually look thinner in my face so I feel good about that. I'll try to update a little sooner next time.

Hi WLS Family: I'm 10 days shy of my 11th month anniversary of my surgery & my new life. I'm down 110 lbs to date. I'm wearing size 14 clothes and feeling good. I just came home from a wonderful trip to Cancun. I had a blast and didn't feel out of place for the first time in six long years. I looked decent in my bathing suit and had an awesome tan. I've included a picture of me at our awards dinner the 4th night in Cancun. Now I have even better news. I just found out that I'm having another baby. It's exciting but also scary. I'm not done losing weight yet and here I am going to gain some? But I know what I need to do to stay on track. Wish me luck since my journey has taken an unexpected turn. Good luck to all of you out there wanting to be thin. Keep trying it is always worth it!!

Hi Everyone: It's been 10 months since my surgery and I have a whole new life. I've lost 105 lbs and I'm still working on the last 30 lbs. I eat just about everything and I feel wonderful. I recently made changes in my job and income due to my new self confidence and worth. I am going to Cancun next week and for the first time in 6 years I'm looking forward to wearing a bathing suit. I've already been to the beach twice this month. What a difference the weight loss has made. Thank you Pacific Bariatric for giving me my life back. Especially Dr. Rumsey who is a brillant surgeon and great doctor. I'd have the surgery again in a heartbeat to feel like this for the rest of my life. Yeah!! I'm free!!
