Shay, I think you are absolutely right to take a some time pre-op for yourself. This is no minor task that you are about to go through and you deserve to take the time you need to clear your head and focus on yourself and your body. I hope you do take the time. Your profile shows that you have been through a lot in this process and I wish you all the best. The anxiety must be terrible. My surgery date is 11/26/01 and I am feeling it myself. I can't imagine what I would do if I had a high stress job like yours. Do whats best for you and keep in touch I'd like to hear what you decide and how your surgery goes. Thinking of you, Candy

Shay, I know how you feel. I just went through my crying spell Friday night. But we have to stay focused and positive if this is what we want and need to do. We can do it. Keep reading as many profiles as you can. Continue to post comments to our WLS peers. I find that when we help support others we tend to feel so much better. It really helps. Good luck and I'm confident that everything will work out great. Keep everyone posted on your recovery post-op. Best wishes!

10/22/01 Shay, Hang in there, the feel better, losing days will be here soon. I know it's tough losing pets you love, I lost my cat on 4/27 and my collie on 4/28. They were old and had been a part of our family since my daughter was little. They had a good life and we loved them. Right now you have to focus on getting you healthy. Eleven days will pass so fast, you'll be uncomfortable for a few days, and then world watch out!! I can't wait to hear about your progress. Good luck! I'll pray for you in my lucid moments.

Hi Shay, thanks for your post to my site. I know we will both do great! I am so sorry to hear about you losing your cat :( I have two cats which are my children, and I'd be devastated if anything happened to them. Just be comforted that they your cat is in a place with no poison, no cars, nothing bad, only lots of mice to chase and catnip to enjoy. I know he'll be watching you and giving you support, just as I will. Best wishes!
