One week post op!!!! whoooo! Well i made it through the surgery and fist week. Im going to go through the first week day by day.

Day 1 : surgery date! Got up went to tucson arrived on time at North West medical Center! Was mortified the day before the surgery started my period, a week early ill add!Never been early in my entire life. Totally freaking out, I called the Nurse (we had a previous class with her) asked her what i was supposed to do. She said nothing, theyve seen worse just let my nurse know when i check in. Also that thy wouldnt allow panites or any sort of " feminine products" :/ All i could think about was the catheriter and ugg.. I searched the topic her on OH and felt so greatful somebody posted with the same issues. Many ppl had them. So i arrived and signed in..waited for them to call me.... a guy nurse came out and got me. I was like the luck! you have to be kidding me!Luckily he was really cool and funny! Then i met the rest of the team. male. male male annnd male. the one or assistant aplologized for being male..haha. (in the or the drs operating assistant was female)  The surgeon came in a few times. Told me i didnt need a cathiter! i was more than relieved.He said he didnt use them on his lighter and younger patients. Surgery went great. He afterwards gave my mom two sheets of pics from inside of the operation! im so excited about them. I spent many hours in revoery. waiting for my own room. Was very comfortable.! LOVE NORTHWEST HOSPITAL!

DAY 2... pretty average... jacked up on pain meds..they gave me a button! the nurse said i had pushed it 72 times..it gave 32.. i toldher i think i fell asleep on it or something because i dont remember pushing it that much. I had one female set of nurses they were  day.. night time back to male set. Ive never seen so many male nurses...i did a bit of walking.. attempted drinking.. they did the swollow test on me on day 2. I remided them im allergic to iodine...so they had to give me benedryl wich i have an over sensitivitly too. Was high as a kite! The helped me stand and get back in bed and i had trouble talking! super fun

DAY 3...was getting ready to be discharged... busy day. was feeling really bad day 3 and was affraid to go home because we lived almost 2 hours away. Did okay and went home..the drive through the moutains made me nausiated..the bumps over the cattle guards hurt.

DAY 4 started realizing that i couldnt drink much. took me about 2 hours to get down 8 oz of water! walked..slept...drank..  forgetting at times drinking too much or too fast! the entire house needed to know everytime this happend. Im like owww and was like hurts...hurts drank too much. (still working on this) Had a major peanut butter craving..drove to the next town over found pb flavor drops for my protein.was really excited.

DAY 5.. feeling pretty good...coudlnt even attemp the liquid protien. called my nurse Gayle Again! she said i could drink the shake kinds just drink slow.

Day 6.. about the same. walked more..felt better...

-- Over all... points. the gas pains hurt!!

DOWN 14LBS THIS WEEK. putting me at 187..

Whoooooooo! On 12-12-12 I got one of the best calls ive ever got!!! I was approved...approved approved!!!!! After getting my first denial letter from bc/bs I spent the three days crying at the loss of what i felt would be the biggest life change i would ever get and possibly my ONLY chance for a new begining. Then my dr office called (as i was bawling my eyes out) My pt advocate asked me how i was doing i told her it depended on what she had to say. She said she talked to the bcbs rep and Got it APPROVED! A Week later and i have a date! January 9th 2013. This will no doubt be one of the best days of my entire life! ....and hurt like hell...im sure it will hurt! Started my pre-op diet that my surgeon   (shout out to -dr Chiasson in Tucson Az) reccomended I do... Next weeks the pre op clearance test and then the big day!
