5 months post-op

Aug 21, 2008

Well, it doesn't seem possible but five months have passed since my surgery.  WOW.  It has really flown by.  I have lost 79 lbs and 40+ inches.  Life is good.  I am really enjoying the WooHoo moments.  They are awesome.  Shopping isn't even a bad experience any more.  I saw some firends on Friday that I haven't seen in about 8 months.  I ran into them in J.C. Penney's.  When I walked up to them....they didn't know who I was.  It was an amazing thing.  I felt wonderful.  Along with these wonderful moments have come lots of adjustments too.  I am still making lots of adjustments and most of them the fact that I am smaller and that takes a lot of convincing.  It hasn't completely registered yet.  My family (for the most part) has been very supportive.  Our oldest daughter has trouble with my weight loss and has yet to even acknowledge it.  I am in a size 18 (down from a 24) and she has already said that she doesn't want me to get to her size (16).  I told her she better get busy because I am almost there!  I tried to tell her it could be a benefit if we are the same size but she said, in her opinion it isn't.  Oh well, that is for her to deal with, plus I know I won't be a 16 for long....I plan to pass that size by too.  These last five months have been thrilling and rewarding and I hope the next five are too!

TWO MONTHS

May 21, 2008

May 17, 2008 was 2 months for me.  It hasn't all been easy, but I never thought it would be.  The weight loss has been amazing.  56 pounds in two months.  I could have never done that alone.  My husband, youngest daughter and my aunt have been my rocks.  My oldest daughter is not critical but not my supporter either.  She ignores my surgery and weight loss. That is her deal not mine and I am not going to let it bother me.  I am glad I did have surgery and I would do it again in a flash.  I weigh less now than I have since 2003.  I also have found a great new support group in TMB and the Allen/McKinney support group.  A whole new group of friends and they all understand where I am coming from and where I have been and most important where I am going!!  This is truly an amazing journey. Special thanks to Lynnette, Teena C.  You two are amazing ladies.  I hope I can do half as well as you two and you have been my shoulders to turn to.  I couldn't have made it through these two months without you.  You are both a wealth of information and willing to share and help.  Thanks for all the answers and beware cause I will have more questions.....Just warning ya..... Love aya'll and HUGS!!!!

Nerves

Mar 10, 2008

I am exactly a week away from my sugery date.  I am very excited but today suddenly I am very nervous too.  I can't wait to have surgery but I am not sure where these nreves came from.  I started my liquid diet today and maybe that is my problem.  I have NO doubt it is the right thing for me.  I am sure the nerves will fade too.
