Congrats, you are almost on the losing side. Good luck on your surgery tommorrow and I hope you have a speedy and painless recovery and best wishes on the rest of your journey.
Shelly, don't forget tampons or pads...you'll need them. Also, around day two you will start to feel pretty yucky. I had an angel of a nurse who washed my hair for me...she ripped a hole into a plastic bag and fit it around my hairline so that the water ran into the bag. That was the HIGHLIGH of my stay! Good luck! OH! Take a firm pillow with you...you'll want to keep this tightly pressed into your tummy for the ride home.
Hi, Did you get your after op supplies, like your sterile gauzes, peroxide, medical tape( wide) wound cleanser of some kind. and baby wipes is a must. good for drainage plus more
Shelly, Best wishes tomorrow. I can think of only one thing that will be useful at the hospital and that is a back scratcher. I had an epidural but I had this one place that itched on my back and of course I couldn't reach the spot but I had a nurse that brought me a scratcher and it was heaven. When you get home, I made sure I had powdered skim milk and I used it in everything. Soon you will have this all behind you and only healthier days ahead. Take care and God Bless.
SHELLY~~ Absolute MUSTS for me were: chapstick, comfy clothes for the trip home (can be the same ones you were in) and slip on slippers- most of the other stuff that I took to the hospital were provided (like toothpaste) and the other stuff I took (like a cd player and magazines- I didn't feel like using) WISHING YOU THE BEST ON YOUR WLS JOURNEY.
