I am 43 year old, mother of 2 and wife of a wonderful husband, John. My son is soon to be 21 and my daughter just turned 18. Soon after she was born I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I have struggled with this disease for 18 yrs. My weight is up and down and my thyroid is progressively getting worse. I am on the max dose of Synthroid and then some. My doctor told me that as long as I am overweight my thyroid disease will worsen. So here I am...anxiously waiting my surgery date. I just want to be able to perform daily duties without so much effort. I want to be able to look in the mirror without disgust. I look forward to the day when I don't have to get on all 4's just to get out of the bath tub. I have recently joined "golds gym" and began taking biotin and horsetail along with my multi-vitamin,calcium and b-12, hopefully to minimize the hair loss post-op. I just can't wait to feel and see the new ME!
