I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~

Hi Sheryl, when I eat out, not often, I always order the best quality meat, steak, pork, chicken, that I can find. I order it without all the xtras, rice, potatoes, pasta, bread etc. I always ask for a green veggie and after I eat a couple of oz. of meat if I have any more room, a couple of bites of the veggies. When I order I ask for the take home container and when the entree is served I put most of it in the container, and enjoy what's left on the plate. I use the leftovers for several meals at home! Hope this helps, it works for me. Also two websites with high protein recipes: lowcarbfriends.com and: lowcarbluxury.com Even My DH enjoys these recipes! He's lost 20# since I had surgery! lol BIGGHUGGZZZZ

Hi there, Sheryl For Protein I eat high protein meats. Hanburger, chicken, tuna, wt loss is now 70+lbs haven't weighed since the end of last month. (giggling) I don't get hungry or cravings. So I have to keep up on my foods, I leave starchy foods alone. NO potatoes, or pasta, I hope this helps you. Hugs

Dear Sheryl, I eat alot of beans which are loaded with protein and fiber. Pimento cheese was also a great thing. I am 15 months out and have lost 162 pounds since surgery and 198 pounds from my top weight. I would rather blend a pork chop than drink all that protein. I make a great bean soup if you want the receipe email me. Hugs and blessings Janice 353/155

Only today, after being out of the hospital for over six weeks, and almost three months from the beginning of this process, did I find the strength to return to this website. I am overwhelmed at the postings offered during the time of my hospitalization, full of love, concern and prayer. Thank you so much to all who responded during a time when I was so totally "out of it." A huge THANK YOU to my angel, Marcia McDaniel, for keeping you all posted on my progress--or lack of it. I must say that I am still struggling. I have tried to return to work but am so weak and tired that I have yet to last one full work-day. I struggle with getting enough protein and drinking enough water. I cannot yet say that, in my human mind, I would choose to repeat what I have been through, BUT I continue to trust in my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, to teach me what I need to learn through this recovery process. I am blessed to have no memory of the difficult times in ICU. Isn't that wonderful! Thank you again sincerely to those all over our country who have prayed for me and cared enough to post an encouragement.

Sheryl - So glad to here you are home. You had us a little scared for a while there. Marcia did a great job in keeping us up to date. We were all praying and pulling for you. Take care.

Great news here! Sheryl is now at home in her own house and in her own surrounds!!! She was supposed to be released officially on Monday but she talked the doctor into breaking free on Sunday since there is no physical therapy on Sunday. I know you are probably thinking but this is Saturday.... well the doctor came in to see her this morning right after the nurses had changed and dressed her wound( to refresh your memory the wound is the incision site that had to be reopened after the infection had been allowed to grow there... you remember her third surgery) well anyway the doctor noticed it had not been properly cared for - what a surprise - and decided that Chuckles could dress her wound much better at home. Therefore he said go and she went!!!! She does not need physical therapy at home, said she could do well on her own and Chuckles will go in daily to change the bandage -- I could probably put a curad on it but somehow I don't think that is the same thing??? One more slight hospital mistake happened before she 'left the building' [just like Elvis used to] They brought her up a soft diet meal last night - chicken, baked potatoes, broccoli and green beans cooked together, peach halves and coffee and milk - say what kind of soft diet is that for someone who had not eaten anything for 6 weeks???? She said she cried all the way home. Those were tears of joy because she sure has been praising the Lord - along with the rest of us - . He was gracious and merciful in allowing Sheryl to remain with us and we watch with anticipation how He will be working in her life and using her to touch other lives for His kingdom. Hopefully, she will be online soon and can read all the great postings you wonderful people have sent!!
She has not eaten in 3 weeks?? She is probably half way to goal! wow!
