Had my cardiology consult on Monday (3/19) at OHSU. They did an ECHO and stress EKG. The cardiologist called me Wednesday to say everything looked fine. That was the last appt needed before my packet goes to BC/BS for approval.
Terra (OHSU scheduler) told me that my surgery would be in June. Just waiting for an appt now. Wish it was sooner - I hate the wait.
Trying to focus on the good news: I don't have heart disease, I don't have sleep apnea and I'm apparently not too crazy to have the surgery. Hope the next two months go by fast.
I am staying on my diet plan in the meanwhile, trying to lose as much as possible pre-surgery -- 16 lbs down so far.

The journey began in Dec. 18, 2006, when I went to OHSU's info seminar along with my friends Bobbie & Randy. Randy is also on the path to surgery.
I faxed my paperwork to Ptld on 1/29/06, to begin the process. Had a scheduled annual physical with my PCP on 1/15/07 and an appt for blood work for that appt on 1/11/07 -- asked that the work OHSU wanted done be added. My PCP was very supportive, but it was a real struggle to get her office to fax my records up to OHSU. Finally after 4 or so phone calls, it was done. When OHSU called me to schedule the NP & nutrition appt, I found out that they had only faxed report on blood work and the 1/15/07 visit. Yet more calls to request last 2 yrs worth of records be sent -- hopefully, they have done this since OHSU said my appts would have to be cancelled if they did not get records.
My PCP set me up with an overnight pulse oximeter screening device I was able to use at home for sleep apnea. Found out on Friday, 2/8/07 that it was positive. I am now set up to see a sleep study specialist at McKenzie Willamette Hospital on 2/26/07. I expect an overnight study will be set up after I see him.
Currently my appt in Portland is 2/20/00 with the NP & nutritionist and 3/1/07 with the psychologist. Hope everything stays on schedule.
