Good news finally, I have a date for 4/27/10.  I'm finally very excited. It's been a wait, but God is good.  Thanks everyone for your support.  I am down 10lbs as well.  Yippy! Yeah!

I'm expecting insurance approval any day now.  I just spoke with my surgery coordinator and she said that my surgery date will probably be on March 10th.  I know all of this is finally happening and moving more quickly.  I'm going to keep the faith and pray that I get approval and all else goes well.  Thank to all of my OH friends for your support and encouragement.  I will be on the losers bench soon.

The surgeon's office called me last night at 6:30pm WOW! I was told that as soon as I loose the 15lbs to come in and weigh and that same day I will do my blood work, etc. and I will be put on schedule for surgery in March if I can loose the pounds soon.  I'm so excited. This is the best news I've had in a very long time!

I'm in a better mood today. I will probably have a change in plans with getting a surgery date at least by April.  Keep me in your prayers.  My surgery coordinator sucks!  She has no people skills and all she does is complain about her work load.  In general my surgeon is great and his assistant, but she is awful.  This entire insurance mess is my coordinators' fault.  I called her twice today and she still hasn't returned my calls.  I called last week with no response.  Looks like I have to make a trip over there for one question. I think she is avoiding me....*^*&^^%#&^$!

Today I had an appointment with my surgeon.  They took a picture of me for my file and I signed some papers for surgery, etc.  I was told that they are all booked up for surgeries until April and I will get a date then.  However; towards the end of my visit I was told that my insurance company may still require me to do a 6 month diet, which will push me out until July for surgery.  The PA told me that I will know in about a week or two weeks for sure.  All of my preop stuff is complete and now just waiting still for the insurance company.  Meanwhile, I need to drop 15lbs.  No problem, I can drop the 15lbs, but this 6 month diet has me upset, because it has been 4 months for me now and I could have already been on this diet!  Why are they just telling me about this??

I don't know what I'm feeling right now, it's not anger but frustration......

Hi, just one more week until I will know what my next move will be.  I will be meeting with my surgeon to discuss the surgery again and to go over all of my test results, etc.  Thanks everyone for your comments about time off from work and for answering my "risk of death blog". 

Hi everyone, what is the average time away from work (office/desk job) after Lap RNY?  My boss wanted an estimated time frame so that she can plan accordingly.  My doctor told me 2 weeks, but some others have taken up to 6 weeks?  I just need some input to get an idea of how long.

Hello to all.  I'm writing because I watched a few documentaries this weekend on bariatric surgery.  The discovery health network aired these shows.  One patient was over 940lbs, female and she went in for surgery at 840lbs.  Surgery went well, she was down to 816lbs after one week, then suddenly she died of a heart attack.  This has made me scared a little.  I keep thinking what if......  I'm still going to go through with the surgery if I ever get a date, but I want to know is there anyone who has had the same feelings?
