Surgery Day 12/27/2013

Dec 29, 2013

Hello All, I am horrible at posting and I promise to try and get better. Reading other peoples post on here helped me through my journey so I want to help others like myself.

So I made it through!!! A week before surgery I was filled with so much anxiety, my biggest fear was that I was not going to wake up or something was going to go wrong. But I had a wonderful Doctor and team and It went as smooth as one can hope. When I woke up the first thing I said was ouch and where is my mama... lol. The pain I would have to admit felt like a truck ran me over from the inside out and I swear I moaned and groaned and hummed until the pain meds kicked in. From there it was all about pain management. My Hospital stay was 2 days so in on a Friday and out on Sunday. I was up and walking the same night of surgery, showering on the second day. I am taking my sips as often as I can but I feel no hunger or anything so I am just having to make it a routine. I have 6 incisions and it can get pretty uncomfortable so I try to make sure to take my meds every 4 hours because if I don't it would hurt so bad that I could not walk or be productive at all.

Anyways my Post Op appointment is scheduled for January 2nd so I will keep you all posted.

First Day: Meet & Greet with the Surgeon

Jan 17, 2013

Hello All.. I have been here once befoe..On OH that is but I decided that I was not ready for the Journey and commitment required after weight loss surgery. Since then I have started the journey once again but this time not only for myself but for my 8 year old daughter. She is following in my path and I am not determined to not allow her to be like me when it comes to her weight. So I went through the Memorial Herman Hospital weight loss seminar and got hooked up withe the Davis Clinic. I met Dr. Primomo and I was immediately happy with my choice to choose him as my surgeon. When he first walked in the room he made eye contact and he was not looking at me as if i was one of his largest patients. His words to me were "This is about you". I knew right then that this journey would be a great one. He is not requiring me to lose weight in order to have the surgery which takes a lot of pressure of. Our goal is to start and get a regimen going in order to adapt to what life is going to be like after surgery. I am ready and I although my mini me.. aka my 8 year old daughter is not having surgery she will be on the diet and exercise regimen right along with me, She will hate me now but will thank me in the long run.
