Here's to a new begining....

Hello my name is Christina. Im 35. A mother of a teenage son and i am hoping, by the end of this year, to get weight loss surgery. I am 245pounds and though i still have my confidence, my health is holding me back.
According to my long time boyfriend, i would stop breathing in my sleep. I didnt believe him. I told him that i was fine and not to worry about it. well he kept pushing the issue, saying that he fears one day that i would not wake up. So i told my doctor & she scheduled me a sleep study. To my suprise i found out i have severe sleep anea. My sleep study confired i had 4 apneas & 76 hypopneas during a 8 hour time. During the study i was given a mask to help me breathe. I now have to wear a cpap when im at home...Never thought would. I start off wearing it but rip it off during the end of the night without realizing it cuz I feel so restrained, but i know i have to use it.
i also have back problems and my feet hurt so bad that i cant stand too long or they start burning and later swell up.
As im sure with most of us in this group, i wasnt always overweight. I'm 5'5 & I use to weigh 140pds. Even after i had my son i maintained a healthy weight. It wasnt til this year that i gained more than i ever thought i would. It happened so fast. I lost my job & am now a housewife. I hate it. I love being independent, My bf says i do an amazing job at keeping our home together but i did that same amazing job even while i worked. My goal is to lose weight, be healthy, obtain employment once again & to be happier than before.
My surgeon's name is Richard Nyugen in San Jose, CA. He is suggesting i do the sleeve procedure. Right now i am doing the steps to have the surgery. I already saw a Pulmonalogist & Endocrinologist. Got to see the rest of them in August. I am excited to see how this all works out. Please wish me luck and let me know of your experience of the sleeve procedure, any tips or anything that can be useful, Good luck to you all as well and god bless....... =)
