Large hiatal hernia/ gastric bypass

Scheduled for hiatal hernia and gastric bypass. Large hernia 7 cm. Little nervous about getting a part of my stomach cut and not being able to eat the foods that I like. Have to be on a strict diet afterwards. I want to loose a little weight 245 lbs. I want to be happy with the procedure afterwards. Don't want any regrets it's unreversable after it's done. Has anyone post op have any feed back on their experiences? Good or bad heard a few horror stories even how someone died eatting the wrong things after receiving the sleeve. Any doctors on here with suggestions? Please advise, Thanks.
